I stayed at Luka, a cozy 4‑star spot on 18 Paolo Iashvili Street, right in the heart Tbilisi. The moment I stepped out of the tram, the scent of roasted chestnuts from the nearby street vendor mingled with the faint perfume of old stone and fresh rain—Tbilisi really has its own aroma. Check‑in was a quick, affair; the lobby’s walls are covered with local art, and the concierge—Anna—made sure my luggage was sorted before I even had a chance to sit down. She’s the type who knows the best spots off‑the‑beaten‑path and even offered a map with handwritten notes (there’s a hidden café on Shota Rustaveli Avenue that serves the best khachapuri).

The room itself feels like a private balcony retreat. The bed’s linens are crisp, and the small, well‑furnished balcony has a view that’s easy to get lost in. The noise level is surprisingly low, even though the hotel is just a stone’s throw from Freedom Square; you can hear the distant bustle of the city, but the walls are sound‑proof enough that I could read my book in the middle of the night. Parking is a lifesaver—there’s a small underground lot right behind the building, and the staff will let you in for a modest fee. I parked my car before sunset, so the street lights weren’t too garish, and I could see the sunset over the city’s silhouette from the parking lot. The hotel’s breakfast spread was decent: a selection of pastries, chilled fruits, and the best tea I’ve ever had, brewed by a barista who seemed genuinely proud of the Georgian tea culture (you know what, the aroma was just incredible).

Honestly, Luka isn’t a typical luxury hotel, but it’s the kind of place that feels like you’re staying with a friend’s family. The staff is attentive but not overbearing; they’re always ready to offer a recommendation or a quick tip on where to grab a cheap, authentic meal. The only thing that could use a tweak is the Wi‑Fi—sometimes the connection hiccups after midnight, but the hotel’s printers keep the guests happy. The noise from the street is minimal, thanks to the double‑glazed windows, and you can hear the street musicians only when you’re close enough to feel the vibrations. I left feeling refreshed, a little less rushed, and with a newfound appreciation for the simple, genuine hospitality that people in Tbilisi offer. If you’re planning a trip to Georgia and want a place that feels like home, Luka should be on your list—just remember to book early, especially during the spring festivals when the city is buzzing with visitors.

  Room in a quiet courtyard. with a small terrace. In the kitchen everything you need to have a snack and drink tea and coffee is available. The devices are located in the very center, where there are all the shops, restaurants, bars, but in a very quiet courtyard. You can have a good rest and sleep. The hostess is very friendly.

  Luka apartment was just what I needed. It has everything you need. Small kitchen, washing machine and outdoor space just outside the door. Location is about 7 mins walk from liberty square. Just perfect.

  Extremely comfortable bed. Hot water. Light cooking facilities, exceptional location. Very lovely host. Really nice quiet area close to all the tourist areas. Cute and useful peaceful little outside terrace with table and seating to enjoy a meal or coffee. Would stay again without hesitation. Felt very happy and at home here.
  
  What could be improved: The bathroom pipes smell, but this is probably an issue beyond what the property owner can resolve. It wasn’t bad after a few mins after entering. Also, a spray is provided. So this is not really a negative. Just a fact to share so no surprise!
