The lobby is surprisingly cozy, with worn leather seats and a low, flickering fireplace that gives off a faint hint of cedar. I’ll admit the décor is a bit eclectic, but that’s part of the charm; the staff’s enthusiasm makes up for any off‑beat details.

Check‑in was a quick, informal affair. The desk clerk greeted me with a warm smile and said, “We’re a bit of a family here, so grab a seat and tell us what you need.” She handed me a keycard and a small guidebook that had handwritten notes in a cramped margin—somewhere between a tourist brochure and a local’s personal tip sheet. If you’re an early bird, the morning light is magical; you can see the old city’s spires poking out of the trees, and the air smells faintly of coffee and roasted chestnuts from the market across the street. By late afternoon, the windows in the hotel nearby are stained with oranges and pinks—an actual taste of Georgian sunsets.

I walked out of the hotel for a quick stroll to the historic Bridge of Peace, and the whole area feels like a living museum. The street vendors sell everything from blue pottery to freshly made khinkali, and the scent of simmering tomato sauce lingers in the air. I stopped at a little bakery on Rustaveli Avenue and bought a loaf of flatbread; the crust was perfect, the inside chewy, and the butter melted into a silky finish. Then I made a detour to the Old Town’s Mirroor‑shaped alleyways—there’s a small art gallery tucked away that showcases local artisans’ work. The whole experience felt very authentic and unfiltered. The only downside I noticed was the Wi‑Fi signal, which is spotty on the roof deck; if you’re a digital nomad looking for a stable connection, you’d be better off in the lobby or the café across the street.

Overall, VovaDoma is a gem that feels more like a home than a hotel—friendly staff, practical amenities, and a location that puts you close to the city’s beating heart without sacrificing comfort.   I stayed at this property for 5 nights and couldn’t recommend it more. My room was super cozy and had everything a traveler might need, including a hairdryer, iron, utensils, coffee cups, wine glasses, and coffee and tea. There was also a minibar, which came in very handy after a long journey to Georgia. Special thanks to the host for arranging an early check-in, as my bus arrived way ahead of schedule, around 4 a.m. I had no trouble finding the hotel, just follow the instructions the host sends and check the location on google maps in advance. The property is right in the heart of the old town, within walking distance of many attractions, which is perfect for first-time visitors to Tbilisi. As a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe walking around the neighborhood at night. Even though the nearby streets are lively, I slept with the windows open and didn’t hear a thing. Whenever I return to Tbilisi, this will definitely be my top choice.

  Great property: clean and spacious, great convenient location, very easy to find it; small workable kitchen and easy to enter and check out. It’s better to contact the property before your trip because no real frond desks there. Great experience for me!
