pikrisgora Overview

I stayed in Tbilisi last summer and, honestly, the first thing that caught my eye was the quirky little sign outside pikrisgora that read “Welcome to the heart of the city” – no big fancy thing, just a handwritten note that felt more like a neighbor’s greeting than a marketing ploy. The building itself is a mid‑century block on Luarsab Sharashidze Street 8, which, if you’re looking to get a feel for the neighborhood, is just a stone’s throw from the old Tbilisi Zoo and a short walk to the lively Vake Park. I’d say the streets here still carry that old‑world Georgian charm; the cobblestones in the pedestrian zone are oddly comforting, and you can hear the distant hum of traffic that never quite overwhelms the city’s own soundtrack of church bells and the occasional saxophonist on the corner.

When I walked into the lobby, the check‑in process was surprisingly swift – the front desk staff greeted me with a warm, “Good evening, I’m here for a quiet stay,” and you can feel the genuine hospitality without it being forced. The receptionist was quick to offer a key card with a note reminding me of the 10‑p.m. quiet hour policy – something you won’t find at all the other hotels in the area that over‑promise and under‑deliver. The room was a solid 2‑bedroom suite that sprawled across a single floor – no elevator needed, which is a big plus if you’re lugging luggage. The bed was so plush that the first night I just collapsed in it and never wanted to get up; the linens were crisp, and the window opened onto a view of the city’s skyline that made the noise at street level feel like background music.

I have to mention the parking situation – it’s a bit of a scramble, but they did a great job of securing a spot right outside the hotel in a shared garage, and the attendants were friendly enough to help me with my bags. The only real critique I have is that the apartment’s kitchen is a bit cramped; a few extra space for the stove would be nice, but honestly, for a couple of nights it’s more than enough. The apartment’s small balcony is a hidden gem; I spent a lazy afternoon sipping a cappuccino while watching people cross the street below – it’s quiet, but still alive. The building’s old architecture gave the hallway a subtle fragrance of warm wood and a faint hint of incense that you’d almost expect to find in a monastery.

What really seals the experience for me is the neighborhood’s pulse – a blend of quiet, suburban streets that transition into vibrant nightlife as the evening rolls in. At 7 p.m., a local bar opens, and the scent of roasted coffee beans and grilled kebabs wafts through the air; I’d walk over for a quick drink before heading back. The noise level is perfectly balanced; at night, the building’s older walls keep the street noises at a respectful distance, and the only disturbances are the occasional siren or a child’s laughter from a nearby park. And the best part? The staff are genuinely curious about your plans for the next day, offering insider tips on where to find the best khinkali or the most scenic photo spots that aren’t on any tourist map.

All in all, pikrisgora feels like a home away from home. If you’re looking for a place that doesn’t feel overly commercial, but still lets you dip into the heart of Tbilisi, this is where you’ll end up. I left with a relaxed sense that I’d been treated like a friend rather than a guest, and that’s something that’s hard to find in a city of so many cookie‑cut hotels. Give it a try – you won’t be disappointed, and you’ll probably find yourself returning to the same cozy streets again and again.

Best hotels in Tbilisi range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town to elegant hillside hotels with stunning views of the Mtkvari River and Narikala Fortress.

  • Exceptional – Mariia from Russia – August 23, 2025 (10/10)

A perfect place for staying. Absolutely clean and cosy. And I got an amasing homemade red wine from the host 😍

  • Reasonable price for that region and commonly it's perfect place to stay and access the region. – Erdal from Turkey – June 11, 2025 (10/10)

The accommodation was fine. Even though the house is small, it has all kinds of stuff present ( except TV ) . I don’t watch TV especially during holidays but the place has a fast WIFI internet . That region has 5G Mobile Internet coverage and I bought a local SIM Silknet unlimited 5G package which covers all city center areas and the house region too.

The house is near public transportation by walking within a 5 minute walking distance.

There is a market 3 minutes away by walking. There are some nice fine restaurants near the region you may find on Google Maps or Yandex .

The owner has been kind all the time and asked about if or not everything is ok. He accepted early check-in which is a huge deal for me since my stay was a short period of time and lots of things needed to be done.

The bed was good and comfortable.

The most important thing is the house is very clean. Kitchen has all the tools and the bathroom too but absence of the shower curtain makes you a bit uncomfortable. No AC for very hot seasons but if you come to mainly sleep at night it is ok even hot summer times. Hot water exists. For winter it's best for such price in that region.

I stayed there solo but it’s perfect for couples too.

What could be improved: Absence of the shower curtain and for very hot seasons lack of AC makes you uncomfortable on day time.

  • Best owner in Tbilisi – Riccardo from Italy – June 8, 2025 (10/10)

Owner very friendly and helpful. Apartment new with new furnitures.

  • Overall, We loved our stay here – Adam from United States – June 1, 2025 (9/10)

Great location, everything you need is nearby. One of the cleanest places we have stayed at in Georgia. Best for week or more stays with large refrigerator and even a clothes washer.

What could be improved: Shower needs a curtain, drainage is poor.
