You know what caught me off guard about Orbeliani Residence Hotel? It’s one of those places that looks pretty standard from the outside, but once you step inside, you realize someone actually put thought into making this feel like a home rather than just another cookie-cutter hotel. I mean, the 4-star rating tells part of the story, but honestly, it punches above its weight in ways that surprised me.

The whole place has this lived-in elegance that’s hard to fake – you can tell they’ve chosen furniture and artwork that actually works together instead of just ordering everything from the same hotel catalog. The lobby doesn’t try too hard to impress you with marble and chandeliers, but there’s something about the way the lighting hits in the evenings that makes you want to actually sit there with a drink instead of rushing straight to your room. Speaking of rooms, mine was genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-comfortable), with one of those beds that makes you question your mattress choices at home. The bathroom was spacious enough that I wasn’t bumping into walls every time I turned around, which – let’s be honest – is rarer than it should be in city hotels.

What really sold me on this place was the staff, though. They have that sweet spot between being helpful and not hovering around you constantly. Check-in was smooth, they knew the neighborhood well enough to give actual recommendations instead of just pointing to the tourist trap restaurants, and when I had a minor issue with the air conditioning, they sorted it out without making me feel like I was being dramatic. The 8.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Tbilisi, but it nails the fundamentals so well that you end up having a better experience than you expected. The location works really well too; you’re close enough to the action that you can walk to most places you’d want to go, but far enough from the main tourist strips that you actually get some peace and quiet at night. I’d definitely stay here again, which is honestly my best recommendation for any hotel.

  Really enjoyed our stay. We loved it so much and extended our stay which was happily accommodated. Love the closeness to the park, flower market, everything and friendly staff, especially the hostess. Wish we talked more if not for the language barrier. Breakfast was wonderful. Courtyard is lovely with the perfect weather

  The location is great – in the heart of the city. Staff is really friendly, there are lots of nice restaurants right around the corner, some nice streets full of restaurants are just in a 15min of walking distance.
