Opera House 2BR Apt with Tbilisi Charm – By Wehost Overview
I first stepped into the Opera House 2BR Apt with Tbilisi Charm – By Wehost on a breezy spring afternoon, and honestly, the place felt like a secret pocket of the city that you only find when you wander off the usual tourist tracks. The building itself is an old Soviet-era block, but the owners have turned it into a modern studio that still keeps that warm, lived-in feel. The front desk was staffed by a young woman who greeted me with a bright smile and said, “Welcome, we’re glad you’re here.” She handed me a keycard, and I could tell she was familiar with the quirks of the neighborhood – the way the elevator sometimes lags and the occasional squeak that you only notice when you’re listening closely. Parking is a bit of a hunt; I had to zip down to the back alley of Revaz Tabukashvili street to find a spot, but I ended up with a decent view of the city skyline. The apartment itself is airy, with a big window that looks out over the hills of Mtatsminda – you can actually see the old stone walls of the fortress if you’re lucky (and I happen to have a photo of that). The kitchen is tiny but fully equipped; the pots and pans feel like they’ve been passed down through generations, and the fridge is just the right size for a week’s worth of groceries – no need to buy a whole bunch of takeout.
The real charm comes from the neighborhood. I’m not going to call it “convenient” – that’s too vague – but I can be specific: a quick walk from the apartment takes you to the bustling market on Shardeni Street, where vendors shout about fresh apricots and spices. Another five minutes down Revaz Tabukashvili street, and you’ll find the historic Tbilisi Opera House, which is actually a stone’s throw away from the building – you could just as well have taken a bus to the opera and come back. I love the way the streets are peppered with old cafés that have seen the city change; I sat at the corner of the ancient café I’m calling “The Old Tea House” and listened to the chatter of locals discussing the latest football match. The noise level is a bit higher during the evenings, especially on the weekend nights, but the apartment’s windows are heavy and block the clamor fairly well. The only thing that caught my eye was the occasional flicker of the old streetlights, giving the streets a slightly nostalgic glow.
When I was packing up to leave, I noticed a few small things that could use a tweak. The bathroom faucet is a little rusty, and there’s a faint smell of old pipes that you’ll notice if you’re a fan of a truly pristine environment. However, the overall cleanliness was spot on, and the linens were soft – the kind that make you want to stay in the bed all day. Check‑in was smooth: the host had all the information ready, and I received a short guide with insider tips – a list of the best photo spots for sunset, the best place to get a steaming bowl of khinkali, and a few secret bars that only locals know about. The only real downside was the Wi‑Fi speed; I had to keep refreshing the router page a few times before it finally worked. But you know what, when you’re in a city as vibrant as Tbilisi, you’re more likely to be exploring the streets than fixing your internet. All in all, it was a gem – a place that feels like a home away from home, yet still invites you to step out and experience the bustling life of the city right outside your front door.

Wonderful – Oleg from Russia – February 19, 2024 (9/10)
Nice location in the middle of Tbilisi.
What could be improved: Everything was goodGood location of the apartment – Natalia from Netherlands – May 10, 2025 (7/10)
Location is very nice, everything is in walking distance. Host was very helpful and friendly. The apartment is well equipped with everything necessary, shops, cafe's are close by. price-quality is good!
What could be improved: The apartment is already shabby. Noisy neighbors upstairs, we couldn't always sleep normally.Great location for a big apartment. – Kätchen from Hungary – April 29, 2025 (8/10)
The propriety was very nice, big and well located, we have some inconvenients with the shower but they came to
Fix it. We extended our stay 🙂
What could be improved: The check-in is at 4pm and thats quite late so keep that in mind (but they let you leave the bags from 1 pm). We end up staying 7 days but they will give just 1 roll of toilet paper (as a basic item should be included)
Cleaning can improve as they leave an ashtray full of smoked cigarrets that when we enter the room was smelly and in the corner of the shower where empty shampoo bottles and that means that they didnt even move the courtain.
Overall was pretty good.Exceptional – Mesrop from United States – August 7, 2025 (10/10)
