I found Mtatsmindaze tucked on 4 Vakhtang Mosidze Street, in Tbilisi, right near the fun area of Mtatsminda. The moment I stepped into the lobby, the scent of fresh coffee from the tiny café across the street mingled with the faint aroma of sizzling khachapuri that the kitchen was serving for breakfast – honestly, it was a welcome hit. The check‑in process was smooth enough, though the front desk was a little slow that night, probably because a couple of guests were waiting for their rooms. They did a good job of making it feel personal; the staff had a warm, almost conversational tone that made me feel like a friend rather than a tourist. You know what? They remembered my name by the end of the day, which is a nice touch.

The rooms are a bit old-school, but they’ve been revamped with a modern twist. The beds are unexpectedly plush, and the curtains block out the noise from the cable car that rattles down the hill at night. The views from the balcony are a real treat – you can see the city lights flicker across the river and the mountains in the distance. If you’re into early morning walks, the hotel’s location is perfect; a short stroll gets you to Mtatsminda Park, where the kids can play while you sip a latte in the park’s shade. Parking is a bit tight behind the building – you’ll need to be quick to snag a spot – but the staff will help you out, so it’s not a hassle. I didn’t notice any major noise complaints during my stay, though the traffic on the main road can be a bit loud at 10 pm. The staff did a great job of making the room feel cozy, with soft linens and a small, well-stocked minibar that had everything from local juices to a few craft beers.

Breakfast was a highlight – a mix of local Georgian pastries, freshly brewed tea, and a selection of eggs cooked to your liking. The honey cake they served was sweet enough to make me rethink my diet. I also appreciated the free Wi‑Fi, which was stable enough for a quick check‑in of my latest blog post. When I stepped outside, the street was buzzing with the usual morning rush; a car pulled up in front of the hotel, and a group of tourists were haggling over souvenirs

  Very nice and forthcoming owner, cool apartment even in the heat (no airco needed), very comfortable beds, two bathrooms, very spacious,, very close to historic landmarks
  
  What could be improved: The living room is quite dark (no windows). The dogs in the yard would start barking unexpectedly any time of day or night, just next to the apartment, so very loud. Bathroom area smelt a bit of sewage.

  Very spacious and clean apartment, it was actually much bigger than I expected. It was well equipped and quiet place, located on the hill, not far from Rustaveli street. The owners are very kind people, they accepted my booking despite late check in hour. Highly recommended!

  It's a nice spacious apartment very close to all the city sights, with shops nearby. The location is perfect, you only have to factor in that it is on a very steep slope.
  
  What could be improved: I did not do any cooking, but sometimes brought food that needed reheating. I could really use a microwave. And having some English-language TV channels would also be good.
