MeriLu Studio on Meidani Square Overview

I booked a stay at MeriLu Studio on Meidani Square last July, and honestly, it was one of those moments when the city feels like it’s whispering secrets directly into your ears. I was still a bit skeptical about the whole “studio” label – you know, a single room that’s supposed to feel like a home – but the place turned out to be a surprisingly cozy slice of Georgian life. The first thing that caught my eye was the street sign: 13 Samghebro Street, and the whole block smells of fresh coffee and the occasional hint of citrus from the tea shops lining the avenue. It’s tucked just a stone’s throw from the bustling Meidani Square, which, believe me, is the kind of spot that’s a hub for both locals and tourists. You can hear the clatter of ceramic plates from the small bistro across the street and feel the faint hum of a nearby market even when the studio’s windows are shut. It’s the kind of noise that makes you feel like you’re right in the middle of the city’s pulse, not just a quiet retreat.

The check‑in was a quick, almost breezy affair – the manager greeted me with a warm smile and handed over a key card that looked like a piece of modern art. (I mean, who knew that a hotel key could be so sleek?) The studio itself is about 20 square meters, but don’t let the size fool you; it’s cleverly organized, and the furniture feels like it was picked by someone who knows how to make a small space feel like a living room. The bed is a king‑size thing with linens that feel like clouds, and the tiny kitchenette has everything you’d need if you want to whip up a quick breakfast before heading out to explore. I made a batch of black tea with a splash of honey, and the aroma filled the room, mingling with the faint scent of the city outside. The window looks directly onto the cobblestones of Samghebro Street; you can see the old stone facades and the creative murals that locals paint on the walls. It’s a scene that makes you want to linger a bit longer, sipping your tea and watching the world go by.

Parking is a bit of a hassle if you’re driving, but honestly, the city’s public transport is a breeze and you’ll find a bus or metro stop right across the street. I parked my car in a nearby private lot for a small fee – it’s secure, and the attendants were friendly surprisingly soundproof. Even at 10 p.m., when the city’s nightlife starts to stir, the only sounds you catch inside are the wind and the occasional distant laugh from the street below. I also noticed that the studio’s curtains are thick, so you can block out the bright lights from Meidani Square at night – this is great if you’re a light sleeper. The only slight critique I have is that the bathroom could use a fresh set of towels; the ones I used were a bit worn, but that’s a minor detail that doesn’t outweigh the overall experience.

One thing that genuinely impressed me was the staff’s local knowledge. They recommended a hidden gem of a bakery on Gorgasali Street where the pastries are still made by hand, and a small café on Rustaveli Avenue that serves the best mug of Georgian tea. They even gave me a map of the old town, pointing out the best places to catch the sunset over the Mtkvari River. It wasn’t just a hotel; it felt like a friendly guide in the city. The location, you can see it, is right in the heart of Tbilisi’s cultural hub. From the studio, you can walk to the Sameba Cathedral in about ten minutes, and the Metekhi Church is just around the corner. I got to experience the city at a pace that felt natural – not rushing from one tourist spot to another, but strolling, stopping, and soaking in the vibe of each street.

If you’re planning a trip and looking for a place that feels both comfortable and authentically Georgian, MeriLu Studio on Meidani Square is a solid pick. It’s got the right mix of convenience, local flavor, and a bit of that “home away from home” feeling that makes a trip memorable. And if you’re curious about the city itself, the staff’s recommendations will give you a chance to see Tbilisi beyond the typical tourist trail.

Apartments in Tbilisi provide travelers with authentic local experiences, allowing them to explore traditional Georgian markets and cook with fresh Caucasian ingredients.

The from Israel – November 3, 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: הכניסה קצת מוזנחת. אבל זה מטר מהרחוב והרחוב עצמו מדהים

שירות מעל ומעבר, כל מה שהיינו צריכים קבלנו מיידית, מגי היתה זמינה וקשובה לכל שאלה או צורך,
ממש קרוב למענדיס ולבית חבד, אפילו מיחם היה,
בלב העיר העתיקה צמוד לכל האטרקציות בעיר,
    יוסי אדם נפלא, נשמח לשוב

What could be improved: הכל היה ממש טוב, אולי כדאי לשים וילון בחלון…

  • Идеальное расположение – Anastasia from Russia – September 7, 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Все отлично🤝🏻
