La Maison #7 Overview

Just last week I found myself in Tbilisi, wandering down the cobbled lanes of the old town when I spotted La Maison #7 tucked between two crumbling apartment blocks. The address, 7 Beglar Akhospireli Street, is a bit of a hidden gem if you know where to look – the street itself smells faintly of fresh coffee from the little café that opens at 7 a.m., and the nearby Akhospireli square is a shortcut to the museum you don’t see on the tourist map. I mean, the place is just a stone’s throw from the bustling Rustaveli Avenue, but it feels like its own little bubble.

You know what? The check‑in was surprisingly smooth. The front desk is on the second floor, a modest space but the staff greet you with a warm smile and a quick rundown of the Wi‑Fi password – you’ll notice they’re all fluent in English, which is a lifesaver if you’re not fluent in Georgian. Parking is a bit of a gamble: there’s no dedicated spot for guests, but the municipal lot right across the street fills up early, and the hotel’s own garage is so small it can only fit one car. In practice, I parked in the municipal lot and walked the 200 meters to the front door; the walk is pleasant, a little shady under the jacaranda trees that line the street.

The rooms are a combination of vintage charm and modern convenience. The walls are painted in soft pastels, and the furnishings look like they belong in an art deco showroom – the beds are huge and the bedding feels like a cloud. Honestly, the soundproofing is decent; the traffic from Beglar Akhospireli Street is a low hum that fades as soon as you close the door. The balcony? It offers a view of the old church’s spire, and you can hear the distant laughter from the local market on 8th Street. The kitchen area is tiny but functional – a single stove, a mini fridge, and a kettle that whistles whenever you add water, a small but endearing detail.

If you’re a foodie, you’ll love the breakfast spread – a modest buffet of fresh pastries, local cheeses, and a pot of Georgian tea that smells like a warm hug. And the staff? They’re friendly, but I’ll admit the front desk had a small glitch on the first night – a misprinted key card that meant I had to wait a few extra minutes. But once you get the key, you’re in. The noise levels are perfect for a night’s rest: you’ll hear the occasional church bell, but no sirens or construction. The only downside I noticed was that the elevator is a bit slow; it takes a minute to get to the third floor, which can be a bit annoying if you’re carrying a lot of luggage.

Overall, La Maison #7 feels like a cozy apartment in a bustling city, a place that doesn’t shout its location but tells you it’s in the right spot after a

Reviews of La Maison #7

  • Exceptional – Jessica from Germany – August 27, 2025 (10/10)

The apartment was spacious & had everything we needed for our stay. The bed was comfortable, there was space to sit outside of the apartment & the bathroom was also spacious enough. The host, David was very friendly, always available via Whatsapp & helped us with any questions that we had regarding the apartment but also anything else. We loved the small assortment of sweets, wine and chacha which David provided when we arrived. We 100% recommend this apartment & we would definitely return here!
Thank you again David, we had a wonderful stay! 🙂

  • Best place we stayed in Georgia. Prettiest street in Tbilisi. Clean, comfortable, great value – Natalia from Australia – August 5, 2025 (10/10)

A lot of thought and detail has gone in to every little detail. Davit is amazing and went out of his way unnecessarily to make our stay better. Thankyou!

  • Exceptional – Diana from Kazakhstan – July 26, 2025 (10/10)

A wonderful, cozy apartment in the heart of Old Tbilisi. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, so clean, stylish, and fully equipped with all essentials. There are iron, kettle and even washing machine. The room is spacious, the kitchen has everything you need, and the balcony is a lovely bonus.

David is an exceptional host, truly one of the best we’ve met. He welcomed us with, transport card, cookies, and water, such thoughtful touches after a long trip. Arriving after a long way to a warmly lit home was priceless.

The building has a charming veranda and courtyard, perfect for relaxing in warm weather (or even in cool weather with the cozy blankets provided). Great location near metro and attractions, though it’s a pedestrian zone, so be ready to walk a bit.

Thank you, David, for your kindness and care. We felt like truly welcome guests and definitely returning again!

  • Perfect stay in Tbilisi – Fiona from Australia – June 5, 2025 (10/10)

I couldn’t have wished for a better stay for my first time in Tbilisi, and I’ll definitely stay when I get back again. Communication from David was great, before and during my stay. The apartment was lovely, clean and comfortable, and thoughtful little extras. Location was excellent for exploring the city. I’d love to stay again, and absolutely recommend it

The host! David made sure we had everything we needed and even went beyond. Nothing was too much of a trouble. His hospitality is unmatched.
Thank you very much, David. It was a pleasure.

  • Wonderful – Jerome from Canada – April 13, 2025 (9/10)

The owner was excellent. He replied promptly to questions and gave great direction, above what was asked. Great host. .

  • I will be back every single time when in Tbilisi. – Sbk7 from Poland – April 8, 2025 (10/10)

I simply loved the place. In the very heart of old Tbilisi, with spectacular balcony that you can sit on and have breakfast or glass of wine. Close to… almost everywhere. Lot's of bakeries, shops and restaurants nearby. Metro station approx. 7 mins on foot. Last but not least – I have never met a host that kind, helpful and nice as David. I felt like at home – seriously, la Maison #7 is now also "my" place in Tbilisi.

What could be improved: David warned us that nights can be loud and one of them was – there was some party in the apartment next building and apparently they needed loud music all night long. David mentioned it may happen, so we were very understanding about it – but no lie, it can be annoying, so mind that if you're a light sleeper.

  • Had no idea what to expect – found the city exciting, interesting and well worth a visit. – Melanie from Israel – February 2, 2025 (10/10)

The owner was waiting for us, there was a bowl of fruit and cakes, bottle of wine and a lovely warm apartment. Location was excellent, 10 minutes from Freedom Square. The owner had sent very clear instructions how to get to the apartment from the square and gave us very helpful general information, such as not to take taxis who tote from the airport, links to good restaurants, sites to see, etc. The apartment was facing an inner courtyard and QUIET!! Up 2 flights of steps but that did not bother us. Excellent value for money. There were even toothbrushes and toothpaste, full range of toiletries waiting for us.

What could be improved: Nothing, will be recommending to any of our friends who plan on visiting Tbilisi.

  • Tbilisi stay – Buyisile from Hungary – January 25, 2025 (10/10)

Everything…the location is excellent👌🏽the apartment was so clean and spacious for one person and it was very comfortable. The highlight of this apartment though is David, wow what a host. He really went over and above the call of duty, so attentive, very responsive, and just soooo kind. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at his place and I'm definitely planning on returning. Thank you again David for everything!

PS: I loved the welcome wine and the little treats!10/10 for hospitality 🫶🏾
