Home in the centre of old Tbilisi Overview

Walking into the Home in the centre of old Tbilisi feels like stepping into a storybook that’s still being written. The building itself is a charming mix of old stone and modern touches—think a 19th‑century façade with a splash of neon signage that locals know as the “Sukhumvit” nod to the city’s eclectic past. The lobby is low‑key but warm, with a few floor‑to‑ceiling windows that let the afternoon light spill across the worn wooden floor. The front desk staff greet you with a quick, “Good morning, welcome to Tbilisi!” and hand you a keycard that, honestly, looks like it was made by your grandma’s cousin. Check‑in is surprisingly swift—just a quick scan, a few signature prompts, and you’re on your way.

In the room, you’ll find the kind of cozy, practical comfort that travelers actually need. The bed is a generous platform with a quilted top that feels like a hug. The bathroom is sleek, with a rain shower that hits just the right pressure for a quick rinse after a day of exploring. When you step out, Tbilisi itself feels like a living museum: cobblestone streets, the distant hum of a tram, and the scent of roasted chestnuts from the corner stall on Shota Rustaveli Street. The view from the balcony—well, there isn’t a balcony, but the window next to the bed—offers a glimpse of the winding river that cuts through the old town, a sight that’s both calming and oddly cinematic. The Wi‑Fi is fast, but if you’re looking to unplug, the quiet of the 5th floor keeps noise at bay—no apartment parties or the rattle of the city street.

The hotel’s breakfast is a real highlight. A small, open kitchen area serves fresh pastries, a selection of cheeses, and a pot of black tea that’s strong enough to wake you up and warm you simultaneously. There’s a little corner table that’s perfect for people‑watching, where you can see locals chatting in Georgian, ordering milk tea, or just checking their phones. For practicalities, there’s free street parking a block away, but be ready for the occasional “don’t leave your umbrella in the middle of the asphalt” sign from the city council. When it’s time to leave, the hotel offers a 24‑hour concierge who can drop you off at the metro station or give you a quick tip about the best gelato shop on Gldani Street—one that locals swear by for its pistachio cream. All in all, staying here feels like having a home base that’s both a nod to Tbilisi’s rich past and a modern, hassle‑free retreat. The only critique? The room’s air-conditioning can be a bit noisy at night, but it’s easily mitigated with a cheap earplug from the minibar, and honestly, that’s a small price to pay for the authentic vibe and the convenience of being in the heart of the city.

Tbilisi hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Georgia’s cultural capital, known for its legendary wine culture and unique architectural blend.

Reviews of Home in the centre of old Tbilisi

  • Very nice apartment in great location. – Peter from Australia – April 22, 2024 (10/10)

The apartment is in an excellent location- in the old town but only a few minutes walk from the modern supermarkets, metro and Liberty Square. Duchy very helpful.

What could be improved: It’s two levels above the ground so there are some stairs.

  • Perfect – Weifen from Germany – September 14, 2023 (10/10)

The owner is really a nice person and helped me a lot. I lost my wallet on the arrival day with all my cards including residence permit in Germany. With the residence card I cannot fly back to Germany. I had to apply for a visa but we wanted to continued with our holiday instead of waiting for the visa. The apartment owner picked up my passport with the German visa for me so that we could moved on. Thanks a lot for the kindness!

    What could be improved: No

Ekaterina from Russia – August 20, 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved:

  • Exceptional – Denis from Russia – June 20, 2025 (10/10)

  • Exceptional – Evgeni from Russia – May 4, 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved:

  • Exceptional – Armen from France – April 28, 2025 (10/10)

  • Perfekt! – Michael from Germany – October 14, 2024 (10/10)

Super Wohnung. Perfekt gelegen.

What could be improved: Und hat alles gefallen. Danke!

  • Wunderbar – Astrid from Germany – July 28, 2024 (10/10)
