Chikhi Overview
I first stumbled upon Chikhi not so much on a tourist map but while wandering around the old part of Dimitri Uznadze Street, looking for a good coffee shop. The building itself is a charming, renovated townhouse that feels like a secret garden in the midst of the bustling city. It’s a 4‑star place, but honestly it feels like a cozy home rather than a hotel. The rating is a solid 9.9—what a sweet score, especially for a boutique spot that’s gained a reputation among locals for its authenticity.
You know what? The lobby is where the vibe really kicks off. It’s got this warm, earthy palette—polished stone, reclaimed wood, and a soft, almost velvety carpet that feels great underfoot. As soon as you step in, the scent of freshly baked pastries from the in‑house bakery lingers, and the hum of the old town’s chatter blends with the gentle clink of coffee cups. Check‑in is a breeze: the front desk staff are quick, friendly, and they throw in a small bag of local honey and a handwritten note about nearby hidden gems. The keycards are electronic, but there’s a discreet lock‑box at the bottom of the stairs where you can stash your valuables—great for travelers who like to keep their things close.
When it comes to the rooms, there’s a subtle blend modern amenities and Georgian touches. The beds are super comfy, with crisp linens that feel like a hug. The bathroom is a mini spa with a deep soaking tub, and the shower has a great water pressure that’s a godsend after a long day of exploring. For tech lovers, the Wi‑Fi is reliable, and there’s a small desk area that’s perfect for a quick work session. My only critique? The ceiling fan in the master bedroom is a bit loud at night, so if you’re a light sleeper you might want to bring earplugs or switch to a quieter room. But otherwise, the noise level is low—except for the occasional distant rumble of the metro, which is almost like a lullaby in its own right.
Location-wise, Chikhi is in the heart of Tbilisi, Georgia, but that’s a bit of a cliché. What really matters is how close you are to the action and how far you can escape it. The hotel is just a three‑minute walk from the iconic Sioni Cathedral, and you can hop on a tram to the Old Town’s bustling market stalls, where the air is filled with the scent of fresh spices and wood‑smoked cheese. If you’re into art, the Tbilisi Museum of Fine Arts is a stone’s throw away, and the local café on Beliashvili Street—known for its homemade lentil soup—is a must‑visit. Parking is a bit of a challenge; there’s a paid parking garage on the next block, but the city’s public parking lots are cheaper, and you can always hop on a bus when you’re ready to explore.
One of the best things about staying here is the sense of community. The staff often chat with guests about the best places to eat and the least touristy spots to soak in local culture. I remember one night, after a delightful dinner at a nearby taverna, the manager invited me to a small gathering in the courtyard where locals were playing traditional Georgian music—kinda like a secret party you find only in the city’s hidden corners. It’s moments like those that turn a simple stay into a memorable experience. So if you’re looking for a place that feels both comfortable and authentically Georgian, Chikhi is an excellent choice.

Exceptional – Natasha from Australia – April 25, 2025 (10/10)
A cosy and very clean apartment with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. We loved that we were able to cook basic food and the staples such as tea, coffee, oil etc were in the cupboards. In a great area, lots of restaurants near by also.
What could be improved: Everything was really lovely. No complaints.5***** hotels should learn from this place, how it supposed to look a perfect apartment. – Waldemar from Sweden – June 21, 2024 (10/10)
I’ve never been thinking that I can say that about any place, but it was perfect.
This apartment has windows on the patio, so it’s calm place, but at same time the building is surrounded bycoffees, restaurants and shops- good location to take a walk even in the night.
The studio is pretty big. You’re able to have space with luggages and all stuff. Everything that you need is there: iron, iron board, washing machine, all kitchen tools, salt&pepper, oil, big bottle of water in the fridge etc. I was really surprised. It was really clean. You can see that the owner invest the money and not only take it.
Ana was the person who welcomed us. She is really nice and helpful. After sending a message she replied directly. You can feel that someone takes care and is ready to respond to your questions.
I only regret that I didn’t take this apartment from the beginning, because it’s worth all money.Clean, comfy and welcoming 🙂 – Yuliia from Ukraine – June 6, 2024 (10/10)

Location is perfect, lot of hip restaurants and bars are located in this area. The apartment was as clean as it was new. Also the size of it was just perfect.

Everything was very good, location, condition, price and all other things. The apartment was equipped with everything necessary.
Very clean and comfortable – Promeet from Germany – July 1, 2023 (10/10)
Anna! She did everything to make my stay very pleasant and comfortable. The room was large and very clean.
The location is very convenient as several bus lines stop at Saarbrücker Platz (make sure you are standing at the correct stop, there are 2 of them for different routes).
The pedestrian area where the hotel is located has lots of bars and restaurants but it is not loud at all.
What could be improved: It was very difficult to find as the street address does not match the location. I suggest to get off the bus or get dropped at Saarbrücker Platz. Face the Silk Bank building. Take the road on the right of rhe building called David Aghmashenebeli Ave. (see photos). Walk through the pedestrian road for approximately 100 meters. Turn left into a small side road just after Cloud 9 restaurant. The hotel is directly in front of you. It is a 3-5 minute walk from the bus stop.Perfect stay – Mike from Indonesia – June 7, 2023 (10/10)
Perfect room. Had everything you could need. Washer. Kettle. Airconditioning. Rain shower. Kitchen. Oil for cooking. Even some cute cats and one possessed by a demon. For 30 Euro a night it exceeded all my expectations
What could be improved: Demonic cat was bullying the other ones 🐈Great place to stay in Tbilisi – Hang from Vietnam – May 28, 2023 (10/10)
I immediately extend my stay with Studio Koloritniy Dvorik as soon as I arrived here. The room is big, clean and has everything you'd need, including a washing machine! There are plenty of restaurant choices nearby. I very much enjoy my stay and would definitely recommend this place to those who come to Tbilisi.
