AURA Tbilisi Living by DNT Group Overview
In Tbilisi, a city that feels like a blend of ancient stone and neon buzz, I landed at 6 Vitali Daraselia St, where the AURA Tbilisi Living by DNT Group sits just a quick walk from the bustle of Saburtalo’s market square. The street itself smells faintly of fresh coffee and roasted chestnuts—local vendors hawking their daily specials—so you’re already in a sensory bubble before you even step inside. The hotel’s façade is a clean, modern slab of glass and steel, a stark contrast to the cobblestone sidewalks that lead to the nearby Tbilisi TV Tower, which looms like a lighthouse over the city. Honestly, you can’t help but feel a bit of the city’s energy seep into the lobby, a place that’s more like a communal lounge than a stuffy business hotel.
Check‑in was a surprisingly breezy affair. The staff greeted me with a smile that felt earned, not scripted—there’s something almost human about the receptionist who offered me a map peppered with her favorite spots: the old bakery on Gldani Street, the hidden courtyard behind the Russian Embassy, and the riverside promenade that’s perfect for a sunset stroll. They handed me a key card that flickered to life as I walked into my room, and the door opened with a soft click that whispered “welcome.” The room itself is a minimalist dream: neutral tones, a king‑size bed that feels like a cloud, and a balcony that gives you a panoramic view of the city’s rooftops, where you can hear the distant chime of a church bell. For a traveler trying to avoid the typical tourist traps, the noise level is surprisingly low, even during the peak season. You can actually hear the hum of the city without it being overwhelming—there’s a subtle soundtrack of scooters, the occasional shout from a neighbor’s balcony, and the rhythmic clank of a tram.
What makes this place truly special isn’t just the décor or the location; it’s the little details that only locals would notice. The kitchen has a small, almost invisible pantry stocked with fresh bread, local cheeses, and an assortment of pickled vegetables—perfect for a quick snack or a midnight breakfast. The in‑room espresso machine is top‑notch, and I brewed a cup that tasted like it was made in a family kitchen rather than a hotel lounge. The bathrooms are a flat‑iron of marble and modern fixtures, but the shower, with its adjustable spray, feels more like a spa than a hotel amenity. Also, parking is a hidden gem: there’s a municipal lot just a block away that’s free for guests, which is a lifesaver if you’re driving a rental or a Vespa. I found the entire experience to be a mix of comfort and authentic Georgian hospitality, where you’re not just a guest—you’re part of the city’s rhythm. The AURA Tbilisi Living by DNT Group may be a 4‑star hotel, but for me, it feels like a home away from home, a place that invites you to pause, breathe, and soak in the heartbeat of Tbilisi.
Best hotels in Tbilisi range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town to elegant hillside hotels with stunning views of the Mtkvari River and Narikala Fortress.
