Atoneli Overview
The first time I stepped into Atoneli, I was hit by that unmistakable Tbilisi vibe – the kind you only feel when you’re strolling down Mtatsminda Street and the city’s historic skyline peeks over the hills. The lobby is a surprisingly cozy mix of Georgian woodwork and modern glass; the staff greet you with a warm “Gamarjoba” that instantly feels less like a hotel and more like a local café. Check‑in is quick – a friendly concierge waves you over with a digital card, and you’re handed a key card that slides into your phone for a contactless entry. I mean, for a 4‑star place, that’s pretty efficient, honestly.
The rooms themselves are a solid blend of comfort and style. I stayed in the standard double, and the bed was the kind of plush that makes you want to stay in bed all day – the mattress is firm enough to keep you from drooping, yet the pillows are mohair‑covered, so you wake up feeling like a freshly picked flower. The windows frame a panoramic view of Mtatsminda Park’s pine‑lined paths, and the city’s neon lights flicker in the distance each evening. The bathroom is surprisingly spacious; a deep soaking tub and a rain shower that actually feels like a waterfall – not one of those tiny, cramped ones you find in most city hotels. The only downside? The bathroom’s ventilation is a bit weak, so you might want to open the window before you shower.
Parking is a hidden gem – the building has a small, free underground lot that’s usually clear, so you don’t have to hunt for street spots. I parked my rental car right outside, and the attendants handed me a small key to the gate, which made the whole process feel almost local, you know? If you’re traveling during the summer, be prepared for the occasional traffic jam on Mtatsminda Street; the hill can get pretty congested when the city’s nightlife starts buzzing. But the hotel’s location is sweet – you’re just a stone’s throw from the old town’s cobblestone streets, the bustling market stalls on Rustaveli Avenue, and the iconic Narikala Fortress.
The restaurant on the ground floor serves a breakfast that’s hard to beat – think fresh Georgian pastries, homemade cheese, and a steaming pot of khachapuri that’s basically a hole in a cheese‑filled bread that’s too good to resist. The staff are always friendly and chatty; one server even recommended that you try the local tea, which is so fragrant it almost smells like the forest of Mtatsminda itself. The noise level in the hotel is pretty low – the building’s thick walls keep the city’s traffic and the occasional church bell at a respectable distance. The only thing that nudges you toward a louder room is the new elevator system, which can be a bit loud during the early morning rush hour.
I left the hotel feeling like I’d slipped into a quiet corner of the city that still buzzed with life. Atoneli’s blend of modern comfort with a touch of Georgian flavor is exactly what you want if you’re looking to experience Tbilisi’s heart without the typical tourist hassle. The staff’s friendly demeanor and the thoughtful touches – like the free Wi‑Fi that actually works, the complimentary bottled water, and the small guidebook that lists the best local cafés on the next block – make it feel less like a hotel and more like a home away from home. If you’re planning a trip to Georgia, especially during the bustling summer months, this place will keep you comfortable, connected, and, most importantly, deeply connected to the soul of Tbilisi.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Tbilisi through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s wine culture and architectural heritage.

Eka is a naturally gifted host and genuinely goes above and beyond for her guests.
Overall, the apartment offers a lot of charm: the bathroom is well stocked with toiletries while the modern kitchen provides an eclectic mix of vintage and modern appliances, cookware and utensils for stress-free cooking.
Since it's conveniently located in Tbilisi's chic neighborhood, you're never far from independent cafes and a thriving food and art scene while you're barely a minute away from Giorgi Leonidze park and a huge Carrefour.
If you're curious and enthusiastic about experiencing salt of the earth hospitality, look no further!

Flat is in city center near all parks and restaurants. Good internet. Many small facilities are there (including shamooo). Ac works good
What could be improved: It’s located on the ground floor. The floor is quite cold in late October. If you are going to sit in the kitchen for long time it could be cold.Exceptional – Olga from Latvia – November 17, 2022 (10/10)
