Apartment on L.Meskhishvili Turn Overview

I’d say the first thing you’ll notice about Apartment on L.Meskhishvili Turn is how it feels like a slice of everyday Tbilisi instead of a staged hotel room. The building is in the middle of a quiet residential block on L.Meskhishvili Turn 1, just a stone‑throw away from the bustling Rustaveli Avenue and the old town’s winding lanes. When I walked in, the hallway was sprinkled with Georgian tiles and a faint scent of fresh bread wafting from a bakery across the street—something you only catch if you’re actually walking past that corner. Check‑in was quick; the front desk clerk was friendly enough to give me a local map and a tip about the best tea shop on Shota Rustaveli Street, which is a stone’s throw from the apartment.

The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for a 4‑star rating. The living area is carpeted in a soft, neutral tone that makes you want to sink into the couch after a long day. I found the kitchenette surprisingly well‑equipped—there’s a toaster, a small fridge, and a kettle that whistles when the water’s hot, which is a subtle but nice touch. Noise from the city is minimal; the only sound at night is the soft hum of the building’s central air system and a distant train clacking. If you’re worried about parking, there’s a small street lot behind the building that usually has a spot, and the staff will even hand you a key in case you need it. The only downside is that the building’s elevator is a bit slow, but honestly, it’s not a deal‑breaker if you’re not in a hurry.

What really sticks with you, however, is the neighborhood vibe. By morning, the streets are alive with trams and the smell of kharcho from a food truck on Mashtots Avenue. In the afternoons, you can just sit on the balcony and watch people strolling past the old church of St. Nino. The hotel’s location is perfect if you want to explore the city’s historic sites like the Metekhi Church or the nearby Tbilisi Botanical Garden, yet it’s far enough to get a good night’s sleep. If you’re traveling in the spring or early fall, the weather is mild and the city is buzzing, but the apartment still feels like a quiet sanctuary. Overall, this place feels like a trusted friend’s home, not a corporate hotel—great for anyone who wants to experience Tbilisi like a local.
