Apartment in the old district (Bread Square) Overview
I just got back from a whirlwind weekend in Tbilisi, and let me tell you, the apartment at 5 Lado Asatiani Street was the perfect hide‑out. Walking up the cobblestones, you can almost hear the distant chatter of vendors at the nearby Freedom Square, and the scent of fresh coffee drifts from that little café on the corner called “Café Gorgasali.” The building itself is that old‑world, stone‑brick charm that locals love—no fancy glass facades, just a bit of rusted iron and a bell that rings when you knock. When I first walked in, the check‑in was quick and friendly; the host had a stack of brochures for the entire Old Town, and she even left a small bag of Georgian sweets on the kitchen counter—sweet, simple, and exactly what you’d expect from a local. The apartment is a cozy 1‑bedroom, 1‑bath, with a balcony that overlooks the bustling street. The sound of traffic is a constant but not overwhelming hum; you can still hear the distant church bells in the evening. The bed is surprisingly plush, and the linens have that crisp, cool feel you get when you’re traveling. I mean, it’s not a hotel suite, but for the price, it’s a solid 4‑star feel.
As for the practical stuff—parking is a bit of a hassle. The nearest street parking is four blocks away, so you’ll need to walk or take a quick taxi. I drove a bit later in the evening, and the traffic was heavy, but you can’t beat the scenic route through the old streets. The apartment’s Wi‑Fi is fine, but the router is a bit old, so if you’re a heavy streamer you might want to bring your own hotspot. The kitchen is fully equipped, which is a lifesaver after a long day of exploring. I made a quick bowl of khachapuri, and the bread was so fresh it practically melted in my mouth. The bathroom has a jetted shower that feels surprisingly luxurious; the only drawback was the slightly drafty windows—so if you’re a light sleeper, close them before midnight. I also noticed that the building’s elevator is a bit slow, but honestly, that’s part of the charm—there’s a little pause that lets you appreciate the old architecture.
Now, the real kicker is the neighborhood. Walking down Lado Asatiani Street, you’ll pass by the quirky “Folk Art Market” where you can snag handmade souvenirs, and a short stroll brings you to the National Museum of Georgia. For food, there’s a tiny “Mtsvane” restaurant next door that serves the best pkhali I’ve ever had. In the evenings, the street lights cast a golden glow, and the chatter of locals fills the air—there’s a palpable sense of community. The apartment is also a stone’s throw from the metro station, so getting to the airport or to the beach resorts is a breeze. I stayed there during the shoulder season, so the city was quiet enough to enjoy the morning coffee, but it wasn’t so empty that you felt like you were in a museum. If you’re planning a trip, I’d say bring a small bag of cash—many small cafés still don’t accept cards. All in all, I’d give it a solid 9.4 rating. It’s not about the luxury; it’s about the authenticity, the little details that make a place feel like home—even if you’re just a tourist.

Exceptional – Natallia from Belarus – August 17, 2025 (10/10)
We spent two wonderful days in Tbilisi staying at these apartments. The host, Nuсa, was extremely kind and welcoming. She helped us arrange an early morning transfer from the airport and took care of all important details in advance, solving any issues whenever needed, which we really appreciated.
The apartments are in an excellent location in the city center, yet they feel private and quiet. They are well designed, thoughtfully zoned, equipped with everything necessary, and have a good internet connection.
Our stay was very pleasant and comfortable, and we will remember it with great fondness.

The apartment itself was super cozy and clean. It felt like home! Everything met our expectations! Though the location is in the centre and super close to the main attractions, it was very quiet and peaceful in the apartment. A big thank you to the hostess Nutsa for our lovely and comfortable stay. She was super welcoming and hospitable, warm and gracious, and always stayed in touch. We had a wonderful time in Tbilisi.

What could be improved: nothingPerfect acommodation in Tbilisi. Very clean. You have everything you need. – Adrian from Romania – December 10, 2024 (10/10)
Perfect acommodation in Tbilisi. Very central. You have most of the must see attractions at a walking distance. The hosts are very helpful and they have helped me with advice. They are quick to reply.
I felt like home. This acommodation has everything you need. Washing machine, a stand to dry your clothes, iron and iron table and obviously fully equipped kitchen. The stove takes some time to heat up water for some boiled eggs because it is electric but apart that you have everything you need. Just start it in time and you will be fine.
I visited 40 countries and I am sure this is among the CLEANEST acommodation where I have been.
Close to the acommodation you have an area with free parking. I used it because I rented a car.
Something worth mentioning for Georgia: be aware that dishes on the menu in restaurants do not include VAT. Strange but expect to pay more at restaurants.
