AMARCORD BOUTIQUE HOTEL Overview

I was staying in Tbilisi, and the AMARCORD BOUTIQUE HOTEL felt like the perfect backstage pass to the city’s pulse. The building is a charming, old townhouse on Arutin Saiatnova a stone’s throw from Rustaveli Avenue and the bustling Vake Park. When I walked in, the lobby was a low‑key lounge with exposed brick and a few potted plants that smelled faintly of fresh rosemary—an instantly calming aroma that says, “welcome, we’ve got this.” The staff greets you with a quick, friendly “Good morning!” and a smile that feels earned, not scripted. Check‑in was quick; the front desk had a digital kiosk where you can scan your ID, and the attendant hands you a key card with a little note that says, “Enjoy your stay—ask us about the best spots for khinkali.” I mean, that’s a real touch.

The rooms are a mix of old‑world charm and modern comfort. The walls are painted in muted earth tones, and the beds come with a luxury linen set that actually feels like cotton clouds. I was staying in a corner room that overlooks the courtyard, so the afternoon light poured in, making the room feel airy. The bathroom is a highlight—think marble tiles, a rain shower, and a glass of mineral water that you can’t help but sip while soaking in the view of the city’s skyline. Honestly, the Wi‑Fi is solid, but the real secret sauce is the quiet. Even though we’re close to the nightlife on Rustaveli, the building’s thick stone walls keep the noise down, so I could sleep soundly at 10 pm after a day of exploring. Parking is a bit of a hassle; there’s no dedicated garage, so you’ll have to use the street parking on Arutin Saiatnova. It’s free, but you have to be ready to pull out around 2 pm when the city’s traffic ramps up.

The real magic, though, is the little experiences that make the stay feel like a local’s. I took the hotel’s complimentary breakfast on the rooftop terrace—there’s a small garden with herbs that the staff grew themselves, and it was the perfect spot for a leisurely coffee while watching the sun rise over the Mtatsminda Park. The staff even recommended a hidden café in the Old Town that serves the best sweet potato pancakes. Check‑in was smooth, but the concierge’s knowledge was gold: she told me about the best time to visit the sulphur baths (early morning, before the crowds) and where to catch the trams that loop around the city. I’ll say the only downside was the slightly limited dining options on the premises; the hotel’s restaurant can get a bit crowded in July, so if you’re there during peak season, reserve a table in advance. Overall, if you’re looking for a place that balances authentic Georgian hospitality with a touch of boutique flair, the AMARCORD BOUTIQUE HOTEL is a solid pick. Just remember to bring a small backpack for day trips—you’ll need it for the cobblestone streets and the occasional street vendor that sells freshly baked bread.
