Zemeli Boutique Hotel by DNT Group Overview

I walked into the Zemeli Boutique Hotel by DNT Group on 15 Merab Kostava Street and was instantly hit by that warm, almost nostalgic scent of freshly brewed coffee that the lobby’s tiny café always has in the air. The building itself is a charming mix of Georgian brick and artisan glass panels that feel like a secret door to a boutique experience. The staff greet you with a cheerful “hello” and a quick, hassle‑free check‑in that doesn’t feel like a chore—just a friendly nod and a key in hand, no long forms, no fuss. Parking is a hidden gem, tucked in a back alley near the street, and the valet is quick, so you’re not left circling the block waiting. The rooms are compact but thoughtful, with a comfy king bed that’s surprisingly plush, a small but functional kitchenette, and a window that frames the city’s skyline. The sound of traffic from Merab Kostava is just a gentle hum, far enough away that you can hear your own thoughts, which is rare in a city that never sleeps.

Honestly, the only real downside is that the Wi‑Fi can be a bit spotty in the early mornings, but if you’re a light user or plan to step out for a coffee break, it’s not a deal‑breaker. The hotel’s location is killer for exploring Tbilisi—just a short walk to the Old Town, where you can wander through cobblestone alleys and pop into the sulfur bathhouses, or hop on the funicular up to Mtatsminda for the best sunset views. If you’re craving a quick bite, there’s a tiny yet delicious bakery on Rustaveli Avenue just a block away, and you’ll find the local cafés lining the street, each with its own personality. The night side is fairly quiet; the building’s thick walls keep the city’s nightlife at bay, so you get a decent night’s sleep even if you’re staying near the bustling center.

When I chatted with the front desk operator, she mentioned that the hotel does a folk‑style welcome with a small tray of homemade lavash and a glass of local wine on arrival—small touches that make you feel like you’re staying in a friend’s home rather than a hotel. The balcony in the upper rooms, though small, is a personal oasis; you can sit there with a cup of tea, listen to the distant church bells, and watch the city lights flicker across the rooftops. By the way, if you’re planning to stay during the peak summer months, I’d suggest waking up early to beat the heat—though the air conditioning is surprisingly efficient. All in all, Zemeli feels like a well‑kept secret in Tbilisi, offering a blend of comfort, local flavor, and a touch of home that I’ll definitely recommend to friends who want more than just a place to sleep.

Tbilisi’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of Georgian tradition and modern comfort, with many featuring wine tour services and authentic Caucasian hospitality.

    Thanks for the hospitality.

What could be improved: Everything is perfect

The bathroom is lovely and modern

  • Exceptional – Christos from Greece – July 25, 2025 (10/10)

The accommodation was all we needed and nothing less. Breakfast-wise was full and tasty and it was very clean

  • Perfect location close to old town, amenities and restaurants. – Adomas from Ireland – July 17, 2025 (10/10)

Very good location. Right next to a craft beer bar, that's right up my jam. Room is clean, nice, staff works 24/7 at reception. Nothing to complain really.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Exceptional – Anastasiia from Israel – July 7, 2025 (10/10)

Cozy and nice. Very helpful team, specially Natia, who helped us with restaurant reservations.
    Tasty breakfast and perfect location

  • Very comfortable stay with great location – Tr from Turkey – June 18, 2025 (9/10)

The room is spacious, even though it looks small at first because of the large bed. The bed is super soft and very comfortable for two people. The shower works great and feels amazing. Bathroom was clean, and the soap, shower gel, and toothbrushes all smelled and felt great. Housekeeping was quick, clean, and we had no issues. The location is excellent with supermarkets, coffee shops, and major landmarks all within 5 to 20 minutes walking distance. Public transport is also very easy to access but Bolt works great and cheaper compared to taxis.

What could be improved: The bathroom has air conditioning, which is good, but a bad smell comes from it.
Some room features like the iron are not available by default and need to be requested.
The walls are a bit thin, so you can hear people in the hallway. These are small issues, nothing major.

  • Great location, comfort and cleanliness – Gabriela from Mexico – June 17, 2025 (9/10)

This is a great place to stay in Tbilisi! Lika and all the staff were very friendly and supportive. The location is excellent you can easily walk to many parts of the city. It's also just a 5 minute walk from the Big Bicycle Monument, where many day tours have their pick-up point. The breakfast was also very nice.

What could be improved: Breakfast starts at 8:30 a.m., which made it difficult to have it on days when tours began earlier. Starting at 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. would be more convenient for guests with early departures.

  • great – Mariami from Germany – June 12, 2025 (10/10)

Everything was great! Location, rooms, staff.

What could be improved: The variety of bread would be good.

  • Stay at the hotel in May 2025 – Антон from Russia – May 25, 2025 (10/10)

Small hotel and not too many people in it. Very good location in the downtown with many activities around (local restaurants, bars, shops, city mall, spa, etc). Clean rooms, kind staff, good breakfast, free parking.

Advice: book 4th floor rooms with very nice balcony (trees around, not dusty)

What could be improved: Didn’t find

  • Great location! – Kate from United Kingdom – May 8, 2025 (8/10)

The staff were really fantastic – they were friendly and able to give us advice. The location is really good – while it’s on a busy road, our room was still quiet.

What could be improved: The rooms were really hot – the AC didn’t seem to do anything when we changed the temperature
