Tbilisi sea apartment Overview
I stayed at the Tbilisi sea apartment, but what really hit me was the vibe of Tbilisi itself—this place feels like a secret corner of the city that only locals know. Arriving on a chilly November morning, the building on Viktor Kupradze Street 74 is tucked between a bakery that still carries the scent of fresh khachapuri and a tiny café that serves the best melomakarona. The front desk staff were friendly, but honestly, the staff’s Georgian accents made the check‑in feel like a mini cultural exchange—one of those moments where you’re both a tourist and a temporary resident. They handed me a keycard and a handwritten map that mentioned a shortcut to the nearby Old Town, which I found super handy. Parking was a bit of a puzzle; I had to circle the block twice before finding a narrow street spot, but once I parked, the apartment was within a five‑minute walk to the Sulphur Baths and the iconic Mtatsminda funicular.
The apartment itself—well, it’s a one‑floor flat, but it’s oddly spacious for a 4‑star rating. The living area has a sofa that’s surprisingly plush, a smart TV, and a tiny balcony that faces the bustling street. From there, you can hear the clatter of scooters and the distant hum of traffic, but the window is angled just right so you can still catch the soft glow of the city lights at night. The kitchen is functional, with a Coffee Maker that’s basically a lifesaver for early‑morning travelers, and the kitchenette’s countertops feel like they’re made of warm stone—makes you want to cook something quick. The bathroom is a clean, glass‑door kind of space with a rain shower that’s surprisingly soothing after a long day of walking. I did notice that the apartment doesn’t have a separate laundry room, so if you’re staying for a week, you’ll need to use the building’s communal washers, which can be a bit of a hassle during peak hours.
What really sets this place apart is the neighborhood. Viktor Kupradze Street is lined with a mix of older, Georgian stone buildings and newer, trendy restaurants. I found myself wandering down to a little bakery on the corner that sells the best pkhali—just a few steps away from the apartment. For a quick coffee, there’s a café called “The Coffee House” that serves a surprisingly good latte and has a tiny patio where you can listen to the street musicians. If you’re looking to explore the city, the apartment’s location is perfect for a 15‑minute walk to the Old Town, where the Sameba Cathedral and the historic bridges over the Mtkvari River give you a sense of the city’s heartbeat. I’d say the best time to visit is from late spring to early autumn when the city’s streets are lively but not too crowded, and you can enjoy the balconies of nearby buildings with their own balconies full of flowers. Overall, staying at the Tbilisi sea apartment felt like having a home base that’s both comfortable and intimately connected to the city’s rhythm—definitely a spot I’d recommend to anyone who wants to feel like a local, not just a tourist.
