Tbilisi Funduki Guest House Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Tbilisi Funduki Guest House in the Chugureti district, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star gem sits quietly on Kumisi street, and honestly, the neighborhood has this authentic Georgian charm that most tourists never get to experience. The building itself has character — not flashy, but there’s something genuinely welcoming about the way it’s tucked into this residential area that feels refreshingly real.
Location & Neighborhood
Here’s what I love about staying in Chugureti — you’re actually living like a local in Tbilisi, not just passing through. The area has this lived-in quality where you’ll see families going about their daily routines, small corner shops, and those impromptu street conversations that make Georgian culture so warm. You’re close enough to the main sights (the Old Town is totally walkable), but far enough away that you escape the tourist bubble. I mean, couples absolutely rave about this spot, and I get why — there’s something romantic about discovering a city from a neighborhood perspective rather than just hitting the obvious landmarks.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully put together — clean lines, comfortable bedding, and those little touches that show someone actually cares about your experience. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty remarkable for any city accommodation. The windows are well-insulated, and you know what? Sometimes the simple things matter most when you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep after wandering around Tbilisi all day. The bathroom was modern and functional, with reliable hot water (trust me, this isn’t always a given in older Georgian buildings).
Daily Life & Amenities
The guest house has this relaxed rhythm that just works. There’s parking available, which is honestly a godsend if you’re planning day trips around Georgia — navigating Tbilisi’s streets with a rental car can be… well, let’s just say it’s an adventure. The staff genuinely seems to enjoy helping guests figure out the city, and they’ll give you those insider tips that make a real difference. I picked up some great recommendations for local wine bars and family-run restaurants that I never would have found otherwise.
Why Guests Love It
That 9.5 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen — it reflects what happens when a place gets the fundamentals right without trying too hard to impress. Recent guests consistently mention the location, and after staying here, I completely understand why. You’re getting authentic Tbilisi life while still having easy access to everything you want to see and do. It’s the kind of place where you actually look forward to coming back at the end of the day, maybe picking up some fresh bread from the local bakery on your way. For couples especially, there’s something special about having your own little corner of the city to retreat to.
Exploring Tbilisi offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Georgia’s cultural heart, from its ancient sulfur baths to its world-renowned wine traditions and stunning Caucasus mountain backdrop.

Our host, Cira, was amazing and she did her best to make us feel welcome and take care of us. The breakfasts were huge and delicious and we could take the leftovers with us for the rest of the day.

It was like a home for us and Tsira was so kind that I felt they are our new family in Tbilisi. The location was perfect and the breakfasts were amazing. She also gave us her own white wine like we were her relatives. The room was good and It was a nice balcony for sitting and an amazing city view. We already missed Tsira and beautiful Tbilisi. Best guest house and worth the money definitely

I booked not knowing what to expect. But i'm really happy I went with this family ran hotel. The owners and their son are sweet and wonderful bunch. I feelt spoiled while living here. The breakfasts were excellent and I did not feel anything was missing at the slightest. The owners put in effort at making you feel at home and are attentive to your needs.
The room itself was good and had all the facilities you expect. AC was quiet and at a decent temperature.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel to any travellers who happen to find themselves in tblisi. You wont find this in any other establishment.Lidiya from Poland (10/10)
