Sweet Home Apartment Overview
I spent a weekend in Tbilisi and stumbled upon Sweet Home Apartment on a breezy Saturday morning. The building itself feels like a quiet apartment block that somehow manages to stay alive in the heart of the city—no neon billboards, just a chipped white façade that looks like it could be a photo from a 1970s postcard. The first thing you notice is the smell of freshly brewed Georgian coffee wafting from the small kitchenette, and that’s when you know you’re in the right place. Check‑in was surprisingly smooth; the host sent a QR code that unlocked the door, so I didn’t have to wait in a lobby that would have felt like a museum of old phones. I mean, the whole experience was almost like a secret handshake with the city itself.
The apartment is a neat two‑bedroom, fully furnished space that feels like a slice of home. The living area is a cozy mix of modern and traditional décor—hand‑woven rugs, a low wooden table, and a bookshelf that’s just full of travel guides and a couple of old Soviet novels. The windows frame a view of Makhata Turn, which is a bit of a maze of traffic, but the noise is oddly muted because of the thick walls. I could hear the distant chatter of street vendors selling khinkali and the occasional honk from a taxi, but inside it felt like a bubble of calm. The kitchen is small but functional; there’s a single burner, a mini fridge, and a coffee machine that actually makes decent espresso. I spent a couple of mornings brewing coffee while watching the city wake up, the sun casting a warm glow over the Rioni River just a block away.
Location-wise, it’s a sweet spot if you want to be close to the Old Town but still have a break from the tourist crowds. Just a 10‑minute walk to Rustaveli Avenue, where you can grab a pastry at a local bakery and then head to the National Museum. If you’re into parks, Mtatsminda Park is a short metro ride away, and the view from the hill is unforgettable at sunset—golden light on the old stone walls of the fort. Parking is a bit of a hassle; there’s a small street lot a few blocks down that’s usually full on weekends, so I ended up using a bike rack on the street (the city’s bike lanes are surprisingly good). Noise levels are pretty good after 10 pm—most of the city quiets down, and the apartment’s location in a quieter neighborhood means you can actually hear the distant lullaby of the city’s nightlife.
Honestly, the only thing that could use a bit of polish is the Wi‑Fi speed; it’s decent for browsing photos but can be a bit laggy when you’re streaming a documentary. But for a traveler who wants a real slice of Georgian life, Sweet Home Apartment is a gem. The host, a friendly woman named Liza, sent a list of her favorite spots—there’s a hidden tea house on a side street called “Chai Guri” that’s a must‑try, and a small market where you can buy fresh oranges and walnuts. She even gave me a map of the metro lines with a note on the best times to avoid crowds. I left feeling like I’d spent a week in the city, and the place left me with a sense of home that’s hard to find in a typical hotel. If you’re looking for a comfortable, locally‑inscribed spot that feels more like staying with a friend than booking a room, this place will do the trick.
Hotels near me in Tbilisi offer convenient access to the ancient center, where guests can easily walk to sulfur baths, Peace Bridge, and traditional wine cellars.

Reviews of Sweet Home Apartment
Wonderful – Eva from United Kingdom – August 20, 2024 (9/10)
It is a self check in apartment which gave us flexibility to our arrival time. Kitchen has some cooking facilities (stove and kettle) and a large fridge. Good location for Tbilisi, quiet and not too far from the centre. Free parking available.
What could be improved: The curtains in the front room was very thin and kept virtually no light out. We were woken up early in the morning by the sunshine.Wonderful – Neveline from Qatar – May 14, 2023 (9/10)
It's city center.. near. Public service hall where we got schedule for our wedding & also near to the wedding hall 3 where we held our wedding venue
Everything a home require is available in the apartment. Location is superb and value for money. – Irfan from Saudi Arabia – June 17, 2025 (9/10)
Location is superb. Everything is available nearby. Metro station, taxi stand, bus, market etc. Facilities is the room is good enough for long stay and even for more people. We were 5 people easily accommodated. All you need at home is available in the apartment. Nicely kept and cleaned.
What could be improved: Everything was perfect except the size of the bathroom but its manageable. Parking is sort of difficult but you have to look for place to park.Very good – Suhel from India – December 29, 2024 (8/10)
The apartment was spacious with warmness as room heater was in all the rooms.
What could be improved: Main bed was not satisfying as was broken a little bit uncomfortable.
Also found few cocroaches in the dinning area.It was good experience to stay at local people – Salman from United Arab Emirates – September 17, 2024 (8/10)
Overall it was good specially location is amazing and host is nice guy .
What could be improved: Location and free parkingDecent place close to the center – Mmccampbell from Netherlands – November 4, 2023 (7/10)
The apartment is at walking distance from Tbilisi center in a quiet neighborhood. You basically have everything you need for a couple of days, and there is good heating present.
What could be improved: The hygiene could have been better, especially in the kitchen. We had a communication issue about the payment, and due to this had to arrange this via an expensive bank transfer after our stay. Because you don't see the owner it would be better to pay in advance via the booking platform. Its good place for privacy and facility – Algeed from Kuwait – May 20, 2023 (8/10)
The living room and facilities, and the host
What could be improved: That i paid in advance for cleaning the house for next customer but for me on arrival its not clean dust on top of the microwave and some other areasBittersweet – Vivien from United Arab Emirates – November 4, 2022 (7/10)
Very close to the city center and grocery stores/bus and metro stations. The apartment is clean and the size is more than enough for a family of 4. Arthur can speak fluent English and is always of help when needed. I would have given it a 9 if not for the linens/ pillows/ and noise.
What could be improved: Linens are already old and do not smell fresh especially the pillows. The people living upstairs were noisy. We can hear the footsteps even late at night.Good – Kashan from United Arab Emirates – September 17, 2024 (7/10)
Owner very helpful person,
What could be improved: Mattress very old uncomfortable for sleeping, linen and comforters very oldExceptional – Muhammad from Georgia – March 17, 2025 (10/10)
