Stamba Hotel Overview

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first walked into Stamba Hotel – I mean, how many times have you heard “converted printing house” and rolled your eyes? But this place actually gets it right. The moment you step through those massive doors, you’re hit with this incredible contrast between raw industrial bones and seriously sophisticated design touches. The original concrete and steel framework is still there, but they’ve layered in these warm textures and unexpected details that make you want to explore every corner.

What really struck me was how they handled the common areas – there’s this central atrium that rises up through the building, and during the day it fills with natural light that bounces off all the different levels and surfaces. You know what’s clever? They kept some of the old printing equipment as sculptural elements, so you’re constantly reminded of the building’s history without it feeling like a gimmicky theme park. The restaurant spills out into this space, and I loved how the energy shifts throughout the day – quiet and focused in the mornings, then this lovely buzz builds up by evening. The rooms themselves feel substantial, if that makes sense. High ceilings, those big industrial windows, but the bedding and furnishings are absolutely luxurious. I actually slept better than I have in months, which might have something to do with how well they’ve managed to soundproof the space despite all that concrete and steel.

Here’s the thing about Tbilisi – it’s a city that’s constantly reinventing itself, and Stamba feels like it captures that energy perfectly. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out, and they’ll point you toward the kind of local spots you’d never find on your own. The whole Vera district has this creative vibe that extends well beyond the hotel walls, with galleries and cafes tucked into converted buildings all around the area. I spent one afternoon just wandering the nearby streets and kept discovering these unexpected courtyards and art installations. The hotel’s location puts you right in the middle of all that cultural activity, but when you retreat back to your room, there’s this sense of calm sophistication that makes you feel like you’ve found something really special. With a 9.2 rating, you’d expect excellence, and they deliver it without any of the stuffiness that sometimes comes with five-star properties. It’s the kind of place where you genuinely look forward to coming back at the end of each day.

It is a beautiful and stylish hotel. They have outstanding restaurants offering everything from Modern Georgian to Japanese cuisine. Receptionist Anna-Maria was very friendly and helpful. She deserves to be recognised for her positive attitude and excellent work ethics.

  • Alexander from Russia (8/10)

Good modern hotel pretending to be the best and most expensive in the city. Big room, friendly cleaning team, good breakfast. Great for couples and not for families with kids.

  • Claire from Australia (10/10)

One of the best hotels I have stayed in, very unique!

  • Anastasia from Germany (10/10)

A truely unique experience staying at the Stamba! Beautiful rooms designed to perfection – we had the Signature Aviator Room with golden bathtub, rain shower, huge book shelf, most comfortable bed ever and little bar to mix your own drinks. And let’s not forget about the stereo system! Insane! The whole building is spectacular und just a piece of art. Also loved the restaurant with really great local and international food as well as the wine bar and the coworking space. Service was definitely the best in Georgia although there are still small details that could be improved. Would definitely come back just to stay in this hotel again!
