Sololaki Old Tbilisi Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Sololaki Old Tbilisi on Giorgi Leonidze Street, you immediately get that “I found something special” feeling. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of Tbilisi’s historic Sololaki district, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better. The building itself has this wonderful blend of traditional Georgian architecture with modern touches — you know, the kind of place that feels authentically local but still polished enough that you’re not roughing it.
The Neighborhood Magic
Here’s what I love about staying in Sololaki — you’re literally surrounded by centuries of history, but it’s not some sterile museum district. The narrow cobblestone streets wind around you like a maze, leading to hidden wine bars, art galleries, and those tiny bakeries where locals grab their morning khachapuri. You can walk to the sulfur baths in about five minutes (trust me, you’ll want to try them), and the cable car up to Narikala Fortress is practically around the corner. I mean, couples rate this area so highly for good reason — there’s something undeniably romantic about wandering these old streets at sunset.
Your Home Base
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance of comfort and character. The design feels distinctly Georgian — think warm wood accents, traditional textiles, but with all the modern amenities you actually need. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathrooms are well-appointed without being over the top. What really struck me was the attention to detail — little touches that show someone actually thought about what travelers want, not just what looks good in photos.
Exploring From Here
You’re going to love how walkable everything is from this spot. The famous Bridge of Peace is maybe a ten-minute stroll, and you can easily wander down to the Mtkvari River for those Instagram-worthy shots everyone takes. But honestly, some of my best discoveries happened just by getting lost in the immediate neighborhood — stumbling across tiny churches tucked between buildings, or finding that perfect little restaurant where the owner’s grandmother is still making the khinkali by hand. The hotel staff actually knows the area well and can point you toward the spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups.
Why Guests Love It
That perfect 10 rating isn’t just a fluke — this place gets the fundamentals right while giving you something genuinely special. You’re staying in one of Tbilisi’s most atmospheric neighborhoods, in a hotel that feels more like a well-curated local experience than a generic accommodation. The combination of that prime Sololaki location, thoughtful hospitality, and the fact that you can walk to most of the city’s highlights makes it particularly appealing for couples or anyone who wants to really feel connected to the city. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit to Tbilisi before you’ve even checked out.

The location is just perfect, 2 min walking distance from Liberty square, all the shops, restaurants etc. the communication with the property was perfect clear and very quick, always got responses in less than 1 minute. Check in process perfect, as I was provided clear instructions next minute after I have booked. The apartment is nicely renovated and has everything one might need.
Really recommended!! I will definitely chose it for my next stay in Tbilisi.
