Sololaki 18 Overview
I first heard about Sololaki 18 when I was wandering around Tbilisi, just after a coffee at that tiny latte place on Sukhumi Street—yes, the one with the wall covered in ivy that smells like fresh rain. The hotel sits on Rostom Muskhelishvili Street, right next to the old Soviet-era apartment blocks and a few steps from the first thing that struck me was how the building feels like a secret nook tucked between the old and the new; the façade is that classic Georgian stucco with a hint of peeling paint that gives it character, not a sterile corporate look.
The check‑in was surprisingly smooth—there was a staff member who greeted me with a warm smile and a quick card swipe, no long queue, which is a big plus in a city where you often have to wait for a taxi. The lobby itself is a cozy space with a mix of rustic wooden tables and modern art that makes you feel like you’re in a living museum. Honestly, the Wi‑Fi is a bit spotty at times (I swear the signal drops when the tram passes by), but that’s a minor trade‑off for the free, high‑speed internet in the rooms. Speaking of rooms, the beds are the kind that feel like a hug from a cloud—plush pillows, breathable linens, and a view that’s either the city’s skyline or a patch of garden. The soundproofing is decent; the street noise below is muffled enough that you can hear your own thoughts (or a podcast, whichever you prefer).
Now, the real charm is the location—if you’re a local, you’ll know that Sololaki 18 is a stone’s throw from the Georgian National Museum and the cozy cafés of the Old Town. I parked my car in the small lot behind the building (just a bit of a walk over the fence, but it’s worth it for the peace). The noise level is surprisingly low, because the thick walls and the fact that it’s tucked between quieter residential streets. The best part? If you want to grab a bite after a long day, there’s a family‑run khachapuri place on Akhmeteli Street right next door, and the scent of fresh cheese and dough will hit you before you even step inside. And trust me, the staff will recommend the best spots for you to try—their local knowledge is gold.
All in all, Sololaki 18 feels like a home away from home for anyone who wants to experience Tbilisi without the over‑touristy vibe. The hotel’s vibe is laid‑back yet attentive; they’re not just about service, they’re about making you feel part of the city’s rhythm. So if you’re planning a trip and want a place that feels authentic—where the walls whisper stories, the coffee tastes like the city itself, and the staff are genuinely helpful—this is the spot you’ll want to call your base.

We had a wonderful stay at this apartment in Tbilisi. The place was clean and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. Its location is just a 10-minute walk from Liberty Square, and with plenty of stores nearby. The owner was kind and helpful, making our stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Affordable 2 BR apartment in a very good location and kind host. – Mac from Philippines – April 17, 2024 (10/10)
Communication between the host is very important and they were really good at it ❤️ The checkin instruction and actual checkin was very smooth. The host don’t rush us to pay right the arrival in the property, hence she suggest to pay at night after we settled and had our dinner outside. The house is big and has everything you needed. We got local visitors as it was my 10th visit since 2018 and unlike any other host, they don’t complaint about it.
What could be improved: Nothing at all 🙏It was a wonderful stay 🙂 – Krish from Qatar – February 22, 2024 (9/10)

Great apartment to enjoy the spirit of Old Tbilisi. – Gulia from Germany – February 12, 2024 (10/10)
Location, apartment and cleanliness everything is top in this apartment.
We had a great time, cooking and singing, going out. There are supermarkets, shops nearby. Bus stop is a walking distance. Liberty square is also accessible by foot.
Overall, loved the stay and many thanks to the host !Very Good – Daria from Austria – February 9, 2024 (8/10)
There is everything you need, beautiful design
What could be improved: We’ve had some difficulties with heating and hot water, but the host’s parents live just downstairs so you can get help if you need it 🙂Exceptional – Jana from Slovakia – July 8, 2023 (10/10)
The accommodation was very cosy and nice. Unfortunately, we stayed only 1 night and did not have time to enjoy it fully. It is definitely a place which will make your Tbilisi experience even better – great location, full equipment and adorable details. The owner was also very flexible and kind and let us leave the backpacks at the place before and after the check in. Will be happy to come back if we visit Tbilisi in future.
Definitely will stay here if I visit Tbilisi again! – Ali from Turkey – November 14, 2022 (10/10)
Maybe the best booking experience I've had up to so far. The place is so cosy: Authentic Georgian house experience. Parents of the landowner live downstairs: They're welcoming you very well. Two of my friends didn't want to join us at night and we had the key with us. They were stuck outside but the parents helped our friends by giving another key in the middle of the night (1:30 AM). They were so kind. Thanks!
Regarding facility: Everything you need is there. The most important thing for us is to stay warm enough because we visited in November. The house is so warm, there's no problem whatsoever with the technical things including hot water. The kitchen serves you anything you need. Yes maybe the shower is small a little bit but come on guys we're not living inside the shower. It was very OK. No problem also with the toilet.
What could be improved: Nothing!
