Silve Apartment Overview

I stayed at Silve Apartment on Vertskhli Street 50 in Tbilisi and, honestly, it felt like a moment of real relaxation after a day of city‑wide exploration. The building itself is an old Soviet block, but the apartment is decked out in a surprisingly modern, minimalist style—think clean lines, neutral tones, and that subtle burst of Georgian ceramics that you only spot when you’re looking for it. The room’s big window opens onto a quiet corner of the street, so you can hear the distant hum of traffic without the constant clamor you get in the city center. The bed was super comfortable, a bit plush, and the linens felt like a gentle hug. I was pleasantly surprised by the little touches, like the small tea set and a hand‑painted mug that came with a note from the host saying, “Enjoy your tea, and feel free to ask for anything.” That kind of personal touch is rare.

Check‑in was smooth, no long lines, just a quick handshake and a map of the neighborhood. The host was friendly and offered a quick rundown of the best spots that aren’t on every Instagram feed. “Honestly,” she said, “the best café is just two blocks away on Mardani Street—it’s a bit small, but the coffee is legendary.” Parking is a bit of a hassle because it’s close to a busy intersection, but there is a small underground lot a few streets over that charges a modest fee, so you don’t have to wander looking for a spot. Sound-wise, you’ll find that the apartment is pretty insulated; you can hear the faint music from the street below, but it doesn’t disturb your sleep. Even at night, the lights from the neighboring buildings create a gentle glow that makes the room feel cozy.

If you’re curious about what to do around, there’s a lot to explore. The historic Old Town is just a fifteen‑minute walk—perfect for a sunset stroll to see the Sioni Cathedral’s silhouette against the sky. For a more eclectic vibe, head to the nearby Rustaveli Avenue; the street market there is a riot of colors, and you can snag fresh pastries from a vendor who has been there for decades. I also found a hidden gem—a small courtyard café on Tbilisi’s Sioni Square—where the smell of roasted chestnuts mingles with the scent of hot coffee. Late in the afternoon, the noise levels drop, and you can enjoy a quiet drink on the balcony while listening to the distant choir from the cathedral. Summers are bustling, but if you prefer a quieter scene, the winter months (except for the holiday rush) are a great time to visit. Overall, Silve Apartment gave me a taste of everyday Georgian hospitality, and I’ll definitely be back to soak in more of the city’s authentic rhythm.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Tbilisi through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s wine culture and architectural heritage.

The house is very clean and in a very central location. Everything in the descriptions is correct. Communication with the owner is very fast. The owner is very helpful and helps immediately with any problems. Also thank you for allowing us to check in early. We contacted the owner the day before and he met us at the airport and took us home. He gave information about the city. Many thanks to him.

What could be improved: Everything was fine.

  • Perfect location and very good host – Mustafa from Turkey – February 1, 2025 (9/10)

Perfect location, we travelled with our kids and liked the apartment. We felt comfortable and we can walk everywhere from the apartment. Thanks a lot for the welcome fruits, home made wine and chacha 🙂

  • A traditional Georgian apartment. – Matthew from United Kingdom – September 30, 2024 (9/10)

I really liked the decor/style of the place. The location was great, really close to the centre of the old town and some cool bars/restaurants right on your doorstep.

What could be improved: The access gate can be a bit temperamental, and the stairs up to the apartment feel a bit rickety, but those are minor issues.

  • Good price in center, but be careful, maybe better to bring earplugs. – Almas from Germany – August 4, 2023 (7/10)

Good price and the apartment is close to the center.
The feeling of an old apartment in Tbilisi.

What could be improved: I was surprised by the high rating for this apartment, which didn't meet my expectation.

    1) Check-in.
I was waiting for the apartment to be ready, but it was not ready before the normal check-in time. Also, there was some miscommunication on the hotel side, that apartment was ready, but they didn't inform me as discussed, so I had to wait twice more than it should be.
As far as I understood, there is normally another host that people love, but he was not there, but only during check-out to give the keys back.

    2) Noise and safety.
The worst thing about the apartment is that it is VERY loud in the evening and at night from the street below the window in the bedroom. I was not able to sleep properly the whole night, although it was not even the weekend, but only Thursday night. You can hear people talking, cars, etc. Also, you can also hear the noise from neighbors' adjacent apartments, it sounds as if someone is in the room. And considering that windows are not closed correctly and it's not easy to close old windows and the door is old, etc, you could have the impression that someone got into the apartment.

    3)
no A/C and in summer you don't want to open the window because of the noise already coming from the street and it doesn't feel safe neither to keep windows open.

    4)
I didn't have any "welcome" fruits and wine, as some guests wrote in their reviews.

    5)
They forgot to ask for money upfront, so I had to say before check-out, where I have to pay, but they didn't even thank me for it.

    6) Sheets had some flecks.

As most reviews are very positive, maybe it's just my "bad luck", hopefully, you can get a better stay.
