Rustaveli Two Bedroom Apartment Overview

When I first stepped out onto Tbilisi’s cobblestone lanes, the city’s warm, humid breath already wrapped around me. It was early autumn, so the air had that crisp, sweet smell of fallen leaves and the faint, lingering scent of fresh bread from the bakery on Rustaveli Street, just a block away. The Rustaveli Two Bedroom Apartment is tucked into the historic Mtatsminda district, on 28 Vano Sarajishvili Street – not too far from the funicular that climbs up to the hilltop church, and a stone’s throw from the bustling Vake Park. Honestly, if you’re looking for that mix of old‑world charm and modern convenience, this place hits right in the sweet spot.

The first thing that caught my eye was the building’s facade, a charming blend of Georgian brick and subtle, contemporary touches. Inside, the lobby is surprisingly cozy, with a small café corner where the barista knows your name by the second cup. Check‑in was a breeze; the host was friendly, but I had to wait a bit longer than expected because the front desk was juggling a group of families from a nearby school. Still, the staff made it feel like a personal welcome – they even offered to drop off my bags at the apartment before I could fully settle in. The two‑bedroom layout is spacious, with a living area that opens onto a balcony overlooking the tree‑lined street. The sound of the city – cars, chatter, the occasional distant church bell – is mellow enough not to disturb your sleep, especially if you choose the upstairs bedroom. For those who like a bit more privacy, the second bedroom has a window that faces a quieter side of the block, giving you a calm, almost whisper‑quiet atmosphere.

Speaking of practical stuff, parking is a bit of a hunt. The closest street parking is a few minutes’ walk away, and you’ll find yourself negotiating with a few other locals for a spot. If you’re okay with a short walk, there’s a public parking lot at the corner of Vano Sarajishvili and Rustaveli, but it’s a tight squeeze. Noise-wise, you’ll hear the city’s heartbeat – street vendors hawking fresh apricots, the clatter of the metro, and the occasional honk from the traffic – but that’s all part of the authentic Tbilisi experience. I found the apartment’s soundproofing surprisingly good, especially when I closed the bedroom door. The linens were soft, the curtains heavy enough to block out the street lights at night, and the kitchen was well-equipped – you’ll find everything from a basic espresso machine to a full set of cookware, so you can whip up a quick Georgian khachapuri or a simple pasta dish after a day of sightseeing.

If you’re planning a stay during the peak tourist season, the building’s elevators can get a bit crowded, and you might encounter a queue of guests trying to get in. During the quieter months, the lobby is almost peaceful, and you can enjoy a quiet morning coffee with a view of the street below. The apartment’s proximity to the old city means you’re never far from a café, a souvenir shop, or a historic monument – all within a 10‑minute walk. That’s the best part: you’re right in the middle of everything, yet the apartment itself feels like a private, tranquil oasis. So, if you want a place that feels like you’re staying in a neighbor’s home rather than a hotel, Rustaveli Two Bedroom Apartment is a solid pick. Just bring a pair of comfortable shoes, a sense of adventure, and maybe a little patience for the occasional street parking scramble.
