But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Georgian rather than some cookie-cutter international chain vibe. There’s beautiful local stonework mixed with modern touches, and the staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing (which, let’s face it, isn’t always a given even at high-end places).

What really sold me on this hotel was the attention to detail that you only notice after staying a night or two. The rooms are spacious – I mean genuinely spacious, not just “spacious for European standards” – and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I’m usually a light sleeper, but the soundproofing here is excellent, which matters a lot in Tbilisi where the city can get pretty lively at night. The bathrooms are modern without being sterile, with these gorgeous locally-sourced marble details that feel authentically Georgian. Actually, the whole place strikes this perfect balance between international luxury standards and local character, which is harder to pull off than you’d think.

The location is what really makes this place special, though. You’re close enough to Old Town that you can easily walk to all the main sights, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your door. I spent quite a bit of time just walking around the neighborhood, and it’s got this authentic residential feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily lives. The hotel’s restaurant is surprisingly good too – not just “good for a hotel restaurant,” but actually good. They do this amazing khachapuri that honestly rivals what I had at some of the best local spots. The wine selection focuses heavily on Georgian varietals, which makes sense and shows they’re not just phoning it in. Check-in was smooth, parking was available without hassle, and the concierge actually gave me useful recommendations rather than just pointing me toward the obvious tourist traps. With an 8.6 rating, it’s clear other guests have had similar experiences. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but for what you get – and especially considering how much luxury costs in other major cities – it feels like solid value.
