Ramada by Wyndham Tbilisi Old City Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Ramada by Wyndham Tbilisi Old City? It’s actually positioned perfectly to feel like you’re staying in the heart of historic Tbilisi without dealing with all the chaos that usually comes with old town hotels. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of places where “old city” means you’re climbing cobblestones with your luggage and dodging tour groups at 7 AM, but this one strikes a really nice balance.

The 4-star setup here feels genuine – not trying too hard to be fancy, but honestly comfortable in ways that matter. The rooms have this clean, modern vibe that works well after you’ve spent the day wandering through Abanotubani or exploring the sulfur baths (which, by the way, you can actually walk to pretty easily from here). What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re close enough to hear the city humming. The staff seems to actually know the neighborhood too – I got some solid restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots everyone suggests.

Here’s the thing about location in Tbilisi’s old quarter – it can make or break your stay, and this place gets it right. You’re close enough to Narikala Fortress that you can see it from certain windows, but far enough from the main pedestrian crowds that you’re not constantly navigating through selfie sessions. The whole area comes alive differently depending on when you visit – spring and early fall are honestly perfect, while summer can get pretty intense with the heat bouncing off all those ancient walls. I found myself using the hotel as a midday retreat more than once, which isn’t something I usually do. The 8.3 rating makes sense when you consider it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, just a solid choice that delivers on what matters. Check-in was straightforward (no unnecessary upselling), and they seem to understand that most guests are here to explore the city, not hang around the lobby. If you’re planning to spend your mornings wandering through the old town’s winding streets and your evenings sampling Georgian wine somewhere nearby, this works really well as your home base.

Facilities are good, pool and spa is a nice plus. I didn’t notice any loud music (we stayed on the 7th floor). Reception was professional and good.

  • Maria from United Arab Emirates (8/10)

The staff are wonderful! Sophie and Ladu were incredibly patient and supportive, and another receptionist even gave us a "lunch box" for breakfast as we had to leave for the airport at 3:00 AM. I got the feeling from the buffet area and elevator that the guests of this hotel were pleasant and nice people, mostly families.
It's not within walking distance of the attractions, but by taking a Bolt ride, it will only cost around Lari 5-12 , especially when it's not a busy time.
