Puris Moedani Boutique Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Puris Moedani Boutique Hotel feels like discovering a well-kept secret in the heart of old Tbilisi. The building sits on this charming little square that honestly feels more like a hidden courtyard than a typical city plaza. You know what struck me first? The way they’ve managed to blend Georgian architectural details with modern boutique sensibilities — it’s not trying too hard, which I really appreciate in a four-star property.
Location & Neighborhood
The location is actually incredible, and I mean that without the usual travel writer hyperbole. You’re literally steps away from the sulfur baths district and the old town’s winding cobblestone streets, but tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with constant tourist foot traffic. I spent mornings just wandering out to grab coffee and stumbling onto these tiny art galleries and local bakeries. The couples who stay here clearly get it — there’s something romantic about having your own little corner of the city while still being able to walk to Narikala Fortress or the Bridge of Peace in under ten minutes.
The Room Experience
My room had this perfect balance of Georgian character and modern comfort that’s honestly hard to find. The ceilings were high with original moldings, but the bathroom was completely updated with a rainfall shower that actually had proper water pressure. What I loved was the attention to local details — handwoven textiles on the bed, artwork from Georgian artists on the walls. The windows opened onto the quiet square below, and I actually kept them open most nights because the area stays surprisingly peaceful even in the city center.
Breakfast & Amenities
The American-style breakfast was better than I expected, though I’ll be honest — I was hoping for more Georgian options. Still, the quality was solid, and they clearly source good ingredients. The parking situation deserves a mention because finding free parking in central Tbilisi is basically winning the lottery. They’ve got their own spots, which saved me probably 20 lari a day and a lot of stress navigating those narrow old town streets with a rental car.
Why Guests Love It
Here’s the thing about this place — it gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and will point you toward the good wine bars (not just the touristy ones), the building has character without feeling dated, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore both old and new Tbilisi on foot. It’s the kind of hotel where you feel like you’re staying somewhere special, but not so precious that you’re afraid to actually live in the space. For couples especially, there’s something about that quiet square and the intimate scale of the property that just works.

Nicest hotel I ever stayed at in Tbilisi. It was beautiful but most of all the staff were very kind and warm people. They even gave us a free room upgrade and did everything to make our stay nice and comfortable.

Two key highlights for me was the location as its situated in the middle of the most popular places and amazing garden squares. The hotel building is in the old town but the exteriors and interiors are modern and so pretty. The staff were very nice and helpful.

We loved two of the staff members, Beqa and Salome’s reception service. They accommodated us very well. So did Misha and Giorgi who helped with the luggage.

We were so thrilled with our stay at Puris. The hotel is a beautifully renovated old building in Tbilisi just a short walk to freedom square. The room was lovely and spacious.. the staff were so friendly and so accommodating. We arrived very early in the morning and had booked our room for that night and not from the previous day… the staff and management was so great; they accommodated an early check in without any fuss or condition as some other hotels would have asked us to pay for an extra night. We also downgraded from a suite to a normal room the day we were leaving because we had a very late flight.. again the room was ready; we didn’t have to wait between the chick out and check in time.. so it made our stay oh so easy and oh so comfortable. The rooms are clean, spacious and pretty.
We loved our stay there and definitely recommend it.Daria from Israel (10/10)
