Pine Astoria Hotel Overview
I found this gem in Tbilisi, a city that’s always bustling, and I’m pretty sure you’ll feel that energy right away. The Pine Astoria Hotel sits on Daniel Chonqadze Street 21, right in Mtatsminda, so you’re basically steps away from the funicular that drops you straight into the old town. When I first walked up the stairs, the scent of fresh Georgian coffee wafted from a nearby café, and the hum of the city was a mellow backdrop – not too loud, not too quiet. You’ll notice the building’s façade is a mix of modern glass and classic Georgian stone, which gives it a vibe that feels oddly timeless.
Check‑in was a smooth ride, with the front desk staff greeting me in both Georgian and English, which was a nice touch. They’re polite, but the room key was a bit of a hassle – the card reader on the front door was finicky, so I had to swipe it twice before it worked. The room itself was plush: a king‑size bed that’s almost too comfortable, soft linens that feel like a hug, and a small balcony that looks out over the city’s steamy rooftops. The bathroom was a bit on the cramped side, but the shower had a great water pressure that felt like a spa escape. Wi‑Fi was decent, though the signal sometimes hiccups during peak hours; a quick reset usually fixes it. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt, but there’s a municipal lot a block away that’s free for the first half hour, after which you’ll need to pay the $5 daily rate. It’s a bit of a walk, but you’ll get your sneakers out on the way.
When it comes to food, the hotel’s restaurant offers a solid mix of Georgian classics and international dishes. I tried the khachapuri, which had this buttery, cheese‑filled crust that practically melts in your mouth – honestly, it was the best I’ve had since I fell in love with Georgian cuisine. The staff were friendly, but the waiting time for a table can be longer during lunch, so if you’re craving a quick bite, I’d head to the street stalls on Rustaveli Avenue instead. Nighttime is relatively calm; the only noise is the occasional shout from nightclubs a few streets over, but it’s far enough away that I slept like a baby. The hotel is busiest in July and August when the city’s festivals are on full swing, so if you’re planning a trip then, it’s wise to book early. If you’re going during the quieter winter months, you’ll find the lobby’s warm glow and the gentle chatter of other travelers give the place a cozy, almost secret‑lair feel. All in all, Pine Astoria offers a little slice of luxury without the pretentiousness, and it’s a spot that locals and visitors alike will appreciate for its genuine charm.

Reviews of Pine Astoria Hotel
A great hotel in old Tbilisi – Eitan from Israel – August 13, 2025 (9/10)
We took the suite on the 8th floor which has a big bedroom and a spacious living room. The sofa bed in the living room that was mentioned while booking was actually a regular sofa but the hotel added an extra single bed without charging for it.
Huge bathroom with a bath and a shower.
Great views of the all city from the windows as the hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the lower station of the funicular train at the top of the old city.
It means also that you need to walk back up once going down to the city, but it's a nice walk in the small streets of old Tbilisi. And taxis are very cheap (use Bolt).
What could be improved: The breakfast had a large variety of options, but non of them were really delicious. It was ok.
The pool is quite a small indoor pool with a few sun beds around it. Doesn't look very tempting but it's there if you want to.Need to improve – Otabek from United Arab Emirates – August 9, 2025 (7/10)
Clean room and friendly staff, Thank you Mary for welcome sweets and juice👌
What could be improved: Gym not well organized, running track didn’t work at all.Very Good – Zaruhi from Armenia – August 8, 2025 (8/10)
The stuff and the rooms was perfect!!!
What could be improved: The pool is very small and very very very dirty.great place, location and view are amazing – Medvedeva from Switzerland – July 15, 2025 (9/10)
Location is very good, a bit on top from the main street, but still very very close to the main Liberty Square and Old city.
The premises are very impressive, kind of "stalin" sizes of the sealings, the rooms are wide and the windows are panoramic, the view to Tbilisi is fantastic!
What could be improved: I tried food in the restaurant, it was ok, but not exceptional. And the pool was a big, but not exactly the way i imagined it would be. but overoll, no issue at all.Exceptional – Elizabed from Austria – June 26, 2025 (10/10)
Fine Astoria exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the incredibly kind and professional staff who went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and cared for.
The rooms were spotless, beautifully designed, and extremely cozy. The beds were very comfortable, and the view from our room was simply breathtaking!
The location is perfect — close to everything you need, whether you’re visiting for business or leisure. Breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of fresh and tasty options, clearly prepared with love and attention to detail.

What could be improved: Room menu has
limited choices. My stay at Pine Astoria – Henry from United Arab Emirates – January 13, 2025 (7/10)
The suite was remarkable, the view was excellent, the welcoming was warm.
What could be improved: Strong odour from the bathroom, lack of breakfast variety, certain staff friendliness.
