Panorama of Tbilisi Overview

We stayed in Tbilisi during the tail end of May, right when the city is still humming with the buzz of tourists but before the summer heat kicks in. The hotel sits on Ruispiri Street, a block away from the winding alleys that lead to the Old Town; I could hear the clatter of horse‑carriages and the chatter of locals selling khinkali on the street corner as soon as we stepped out. Check‑in was a breeze – the front desk staff greeted us with a warm, “Good morning, welcome to Panorama of Tbilisi!” and handed us a key card that glowed like a tiny lighthouse. They slipped us a map of the city with a note that the metro station is just a five‑minute walk, which came in handy later when I wanted to dash to the Rustaveli Theatre. Parking is not free, but there’s a small paid lot right behind the hotel, and the attendants are friendly – they even help you find a spot if you’re not sure where to go. I did notice a little squeak from the parking gate, but that’s probably just the old metal settling.

The room was a quiet sanctuary after a long day of exploring. The bed was a solid, king‑size mattress that felt like a cloud with a hint of spring – the sheets were crisp, the pillow was fluffy but not too plush, which honestly made it easy to fall asleep after the city’s noise starts to intensify. The bathroom was sleek, with a rainfall shower that ran so gently it almost sounded like a quiet rain in the hills of Mtskheta. I appreciated the little touches: a small jar of local lavender soap, a handwritten note from the hotel staff reminding me to try the qvevri wine at the rooftop bar, and a “do not disturb” sign that was actually useful because the neighbor’s apartment on the floor above played a little Georgian pop during the night. I also found a tiny desk lamp that was perfect for reading my travel journal – the light was warm without being harsh.

Breakfast was, by far, the highlight of the stay. The hotel’s kitchen serves a generous spread of Georgian staples: fresh cheese, perfectly risen bread, homemade yogurt, and an array of jams. I ordered the “Khachapuri” (cheese bread), which arrived with a golden crust that crackled when I bit into it, and the cheese inside was gooey and cheesy, with a subtle peppery bite. The coffee was strong but not bitter, and the tea selection was impressive – from classic black to a fragrant cinnamon‑ginger blend that filled the room with a cozy aroma. The breakfast area is open to the street, so you can watch pedestrians and the occasional bus passing by, and the staff is always cheerful, offering a friendly “good morning” in both Georgian and English. If you’re a foodie, you can’t miss the “Mtsvane” – a small, freshly baked pastry that’s sweet and slightly nutty.

The hotel’s location is a plus, but you’ll want to be mindful of the noise at night. The street is usually quiet after 10 pm, but occasionally you’ll hear the distant hum of traffic or the occasional call of a street vendor. The building itself is old but well maintained, and the windows are double‑glazed, so the interior stays insulated from the city’s bustle. If you’re traveling during the peak tourist season (June to August), the lobby can feel a bit crowded in the mornings, but the staff manages the flow well. I also liked that the hotel offers a small lounge area with a TV for the occasional movie – it’s a good spot to relax after a day of walking, but don’t expect a huge entertainment system.

Overall, Panorama of Tbilisi feels like a home away from home. It offers a blend of comfort, local flavor, and practical convenience that’s hard to find in a city that’s as vibrant as this. The staff’s genuine enthusiasm and the thoughtful details – from the lavender soap to the handwritten note – make you feel cared for. I’d recommend it to anyone looking to experience Tbilisi’s heart without the hassle of a chaotic hotel chain. If you’re planning a trip, book it for the shoulder months, and you’ll enjoy fewer crowds and a more relaxed

Exploring Tbilisi offers visitors an unforgettable journey through Georgia’s cultural heart, from its ancient sulfur baths to its world-renowned wine traditions and stunning Caucasus mountain backdrop.

  • Best guest house in Tbilisi – Anel from Czech Republic – October 29, 2023 (10/10)

We simply enjoyed it. The location is great, from the terrace you have a beautiful panoramic view of Tbilisi. The area is nice and cozy. The host Lalita is so welcoming and friendly and gave us such a great experience. The room is clean, blackout curtains make sure you have your beauty sleep. There is a kitchen if you need one, laundry could be arranged as well. It takes about 20 minutes of a pleasant walk to Liberty Square. It's not often you stumble upon such great guest houses. For us it was exceptional. Many thanks!

The host is a super polite and friendly woman who is always ready to assist you with anything. She made my stay so pleasant. The house is situated at a walking distance from the Holy Trinity Cathedral, so you can easily locate the place. A family house. A cozy, spacious, and exceptionally clean room with an attached bathroom next to it – also very clean. The bed was also very comfortable. You can even use the kitchen to prepare some snack. Coffee and tea were also generously offered. In case I'm in Tbilisi, I'd stay there again! Thank you 💕
