The staff, especially the concierge named Nino, were super friendly and offered to give me a quick tour of the nearest café, which turned out to be a tiny, hole-in-the-wall place where the coffee tastes like a warm hug.

Check‑in was quick, no long lines, and the front desk had a small touch‑screen that let me skip the usual paperwork. They gave me a key card that actually works in a few different spots around the hotel—like the lobby bar, the rooftop terrace, and the little gym. Speaking of the rooftop, the view of the city at sunset is absolutely breathtaking. You can see the old city walls, the river winding through, and the streets that get lit up with a warm amber glow. The terrace has a couple of comfortable chairs, a small table, and a fire pit that’s perfect for warming your hands on a chilly evening. I ended up sipping a glass of local red wine and listening to the city’s night sounds—distant traffic, a street performer playing a violin with a raw, melancholy tone, and the occasional shout from a group of teenagers playing football in the park across the street. It was totally surreal.

The rooms themselves are clean and simple, with a modern twist. The bed is a king‑size with a duvet that feels like a cloud. There’s a small balcony in most rooms that overlooks the street—so you can hear the chatter of people walking, the clink of glasses from the café below, and the faint scent of fresh bread from the bakery that’s just a block away. The bathroom has a walk‑in shower that’s surprisingly spacious, and the amenities are a nice touch: a decent-sized shower, a small sink, a mirror, and a little soap dispenser that actually holds enough soap for everyone in the room. The Wi‑Fi is decent, but the signal drops a bit when you’re on the balcony, so I had to go back inside to finish a few emails. There’s a minibar stocked with local snacks—cheese, dried apricots, and a little bottle of Georgian wine that you’re supposed to taste, but I didn’t because there was a whole night to savor the city’s nightlife.

Parking is a bit of a hassle because the street is narrow and often full of delivery trucks, but there’s a paid underground parking lot just a few meters away. It’s a bit pricey, but the staff will walk you there if you need help, and the security is solid. The noise level in the hotel itself is manageable; the building is well insulated, so I didn’t hear the street traffic unless I was on the balcony or the rooftop. The only thing that could use a little improvement is the kitchenette in the room—there isn’t a stove, so if you’re a culinary explorer who likes to whip up a quick meal, you’ll have to use the hotel’s small kitchen in the lobby, which is a bit cramped and sometimes busy. But honestly, that’s a small trade‑off for staying in such a vibrant part of town.

As for the neighborhood, it’s a dream for the curious traveler. The Merab Kostava Street is lined with cafés, bookstores, and an artisanal ice cream shop that’s a must‑try. If you’re in the mood for a bit of history, just head over to the nearby Old Town, where the streets are cobbled and you can see the ancient churches and the Tbilisi Old City walls. For a more relaxed vibe, the Tbilisi Opera House is a short walk away, and you can catch a show if you’re lucky. The best part is that you can walk to the river and see the bridges that spark with neon lights at night. The Old Vera’s location is perfect for walking, and every corner feels like a new story waiting to be told. The next day, I took a short tram ride to the nearby Mtatsminda Park and came back just in time to catch a sunset over the city—still a memory I’ll keep revisiting.

  The location is very comfortable. It's in the center next to Stamba and Rustaveli metro. Several best cafes are nearby, one even upstairs. The hosts are very nice and friendly. The place has a very cozy yard. The room is very comfortable and nicely decorated. It's in the very center but it's very calm and silent.

  Amazing location, so close to everything but due to being set back in a courtyard it was also very peaceful. Comfy beds and washing machine, hob and kettle making it perfect for a longer stay.

  Lovely apartment in an excellent location. The apartment is in a quiet spot just off of a busy street, a key is provided for the security gate. The location is perfect, a 2 minute walk to the subway which will take you to all the main areas of the city and is very cheap. And the subway is located at the top of Rustaveli avenue, which is beautiful area. Many restaurants and bars are in the area, also grocery stores and pharmacies. Tbilisi is a beautiful city and Old Vera is a perfect place to stay.

  Очень достойные апартаменты – чистые, уютные и атмосферные. Всё сделано с любовью и вкусом. С удовольствием рассматривала предметы интерьера – вазы, статуэтки, старинные предметы… Посуда качественная и чистая, постельное бельё тоже на уровне. В ванной горячий змеевик, что очень удобно. А какой милый, настоящий тбилисский дворик! Тихо, зелено, спокойно… И в то же время ты в самом центре города. Лучшего места не придумать! Хозяйка замечательная, приветливая и доброжелательная, заботится о гостях, откликается на просьбы. Спасибо вам большое! Желаю счастья и благополучия всей вашей гостеприимной семье!
