Old Town DreamLoft Overview

I was in Tbilisi last summer, wandering between the cobblestones of the Old Town, when I stumbled onto 6 Samghebro Street and discovered Old Town DreamLoft. The moment I stepped inside, the smell of freshly ground coffee and a hint of woodsmoke from the fireplace welcomed me—like a warm hug from an old friend. The lobby is surprisingly airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in the city’s morning bustle—buses rattling, vendors shouting, and the distant choir of church bells. Check‑in was quick; the staff handed me a keycard and a map with a doodle of the hidden tea house on Sioni Street. They mentioned that the parking garage behind the building is a bit pricey, but if you’re willing to pay, you’ll have a spot and a quiet balcony view of the medieval rooftops. Honestly, I still have to admit that the keycard system lagged for a few minutes—so I had a brief moment of confusion, but everyone was patient.

After smoothing out the welcome desk hiccup, I headed to the room. The décor is a charming mix of vintage Georgian prints and modern loft vibes—so it feels like a home away from home. The bed is a generous queen with crisp linens, and the view from the window is a postcard of the Old Town’s stone walls. The noise from the street is pretty low during the day, but at night you can hear the faint hum of traffic and the occasional street performer playing a saz—if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. The bathroom has a walk-in shower with a rainhead, and the tiles are cool to the touch even on hot summer afternoons. I saw a little local artwork on the wall—a painted scene of the Bridge of Peace that I’ll probably take a photo of tomorrow.

Around the hotel, you can stroll to the nearby tea house on Rustaveli Avenue, where the tea is brewed in a copper pot and the aroma of cardamom is almost irresistible. If you’re craving street food, the vendor on the corner of Samghebro and Sioni sells the best roasted chestnuts—just the right amount of crunch and sweetness for a mid‑afternoon snack. Parking can be a hassle, but the hotel’s staff knows a few secret spots behind the big church where you can park for a few euros. The only downside is that the building’s original stone foundation gives a slight echo when you walk, so if you’re doing a quiet run or yoga, you might want to bring a cushion. Overall, Old Town DreamLoft feels like a local’s hideaway with a touch of loft chic—perfect for anyone who wants to soak in the history of Tbilisi without sacrificing comfort.

The room is very spacious, cozy, clean and comfortable. The location just overlooking the Meidan, accessible to many sights and easy to walk around the place. The price for a night is very reasonable. We wish to stay longer but the property is not available for other dates. The host is very friendly and made our visit very easy.

What could be improved: This properly located at old town, access to the room need to go through few staircases which not easy for my small kids and heavy luggages. However, I'm grateful that I have helps.
