Walking down Gomi Street, I found the small but charming Old Tbilisi Rhymes in Tbilisi. It’s tucked in a narrow lane that smells faintly of roasted chestnuts from the street vendors at the corner of Rustaveli Avenue, and the building itself looks like a relic from a different era—brick walls, a wooden balcony, and that little hand‑painted sign that reads “Rhymes.” You know what? The first thing you notice is the warm, almost hushed tone of the lobby, as if the room itself is whispering stories. The staff greet you with a cheeky smile and a quick “Good morning, welcome to our little corner of the city,” and they’re surprisingly quick to hand over the keys—no long paperwork, just a friendly nod and a couple of local maps. I mean, it feels like they’re giving you a secret entrance to the city, not a corporate desk.

The room is a cozy blend of old and new. A small balcony overlooks the bustling Gomi Street, where you can hear the clatter of bicycles and the occasional burst of a street performer’s trumpet. The bed is comfortable, though the old mattress has a slight cushion that’s more memory foam than memory. The décor is minimal—think neutral walls, a few pieces of antique Georgian art, and a faded photograph of the Metekhi Church that’s probably been there since the hotel opened. The bathroom is modest but functional: a decent shower, a small sink, and a rubber duck that feels oddly nostalgic. I found the air-conditioning a bit weak during the hot July, but the natural breeze from the balcony helps keep the place from turning into a sauna.   It was a large property on three floors which allowed us all our own space. The owner was very attentive. The location was minutes from supermarkets and the old town.

  A fabulous two-level apartment in Old Town of Tbilisi. Fantastic views on Downtown Tbilisi and Mtatsminda Mountain from the balcony. I bet you will ENJOY the views. Easy online communication with the host. The kitchen is well-equipped. Very clean and cozy. A nice choice for a stay with your family and friends.

  A huge place well located on the hill will give great views and an easy walk to any site. There are ample food and drink options very close and just minutes to most anything else.
  
  What could be improved: While parking is available, it is nasty trying to get a car up to the place and very likely you can get pinned in if someone anywhere along the road double parks.
