When I opened the door to my room, the view was all Georgian charm: a narrow balcony overlooking a quiet side street where a couple of street vendors were selling fresh chestnuts and a guy was juggling three oranges. You know what, the noise level was surprisingly low even though it’s practically a block from the bustling Rustaveli Avenue. The only sound that kept me awake at night was the distant hum of the city’s nightlife filtering through the thin walls—like a lullaby of traffic and distant chatter. Parking is a bit of a scavenger hunt; there’s a small paid lot on Akhundov Street, but the best option is to park on the street and walk to the hotel. It’s a 10‑minute walk, but you get the vibe of the neighborhood, which is a big plus.

The room itself was a mix of old and new: fixtures, a comfy king bed with linens that felt like a warm hug, and a tiny kitchenette that had a single microwave and a kettle. The bathroom was surprisingly modern, with a rain shower that you could almost taste the mineral water from the Georgian springs. The only thing that could use a bit of an upgrade is the Wi‑Fi speed—it’s decent for browsing photos, but streaming a series was a real test of patience. Still, the overall aesthetic was so authentic that I couldn’t help but feel I was staying in a living room of a local family. If you’re traveling in the summer, the mornings are sunny and a bit breezy, but by late afternoon it can get warm—so you might want to bring a light jacket for the evenings.

What I loved most was how you could step out of the building and find yourself right in the heart of a neighborhood that feels like it hasn’t been touched by the typical tourist path. Just a block over, there’s a little café called “Kalevskhe,” where the owner, a woman named Nino, serves the best khachapuri you’ve ever tasted—cheese oozing out like a golden river. A few streets down, you’ll hit the old bazaar on Tbilisi’s Akhunov Street, where artisans sell handmade jewelry and scarves that look like they were woven by the wind itself. The hotel’s staff actually gave me a map with a few hidden gems marked in red; one of them was a quiet park where locals play chess on a wooden board that’s been there since the 70s, and the sound of the city’s traffic is muffled by the trees.

Overall, staying at the Old city was like having a backstage pass to a city that’s both ancient and alive. The hotel’s personality shines through in every corner—the handwritten note, the local coffee, the subtle scent of spices in the hallway. If you’re looking for a place that’s not just a dot on a map, but a slice of genuine Tbilisi life, this place is your spot. It’s not flashy, and it’s not a chain, but that’s exactly what makes it feel like a home away from home. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Georgia, especially during the quieter fall months when the city’s colors start to shift and the streets fill with the aroma of woodsmoke and roasted chestnuts.   Простор перед окнами балкона. Несомненное преимущество это парковка! и близость к баням, примерно 1-2 мин. пешком!

  Номера огромные (двухкомнатные), здание историческое. Все в пешей доступности. Очень приятная, гостеприимная хозяйка. Кухня со всем необходимым для приготовления пищи. Можно поужинать на балконе с приятным видом.
  
  What could be improved: Единственный минус для меня – отсутствие полной изоляции с первым этажом, где живут хозяева (все запахи еды поднимаются наверх, это на любителя).

  Прекрасные хозяева, очень приятная семья. Всегда помогали, подсказывали. Угостили вином.
  Местоположение бомба! Замечательные комфортные с отличным ремонтом комнаты. Много места, просторно. По просьбе дали хорошую большую сковороду и кастрюлю. Огромный классный балкон для теплого времени.
  Обогреватель новый хороший, есть и кондиционеры, которые зимой обогревают и очень даже тепло от них.
  Кухня находится за пределами комнат, кушать за столом в комнате. Нам это понравилось.
  Окна одной комнаты выходят во двор, там котики. А второй-не улицу.

  What could be improved: Это не минус данного объекта, а особенность и минус отдыха в Грузии ЗИМОЙ в целом – в частных домах и старом фонде ванны очень холодные. Вода то горячая, то прохладная, не помоешься если честно особо. Мы мылись только там где снимали квартиры в новых домах.
  В данном месте кухня и туалет холодные зимой, как и балкон, кому-то может это важно.
  В кроватях пружины. Я легкая и даже не заметила, а вот мужу было некомфортно. Но я постелила покрывало в 2 слоя и стало нормально.

  Просторные апартаменты для семьи. Есть все необходимое для проживания, кухня где можно приготовить еду, большой холодильник, стиральная машина. Апартаменты находятся в самом центре старого города, все достопримечательности рядом, остановки общественного транспорта близко. Доброжелательный хозяин.
