Oda Laila in Old Tbilisi Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Oda Laila in Old Tbilisi feels like discovering a well-kept secret in one of Tbilisi’s most authentic neighborhoods. This four-star property sits tucked away on Ushangi Chkheidze Street in Chugureti, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — you’re right in the heart of where locals actually live and work. The building itself has that classic Georgian charm, and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone really cares about the details here.
The Neighborhood Advantage
You know what I love about this area? It’s got that perfect balance where you’re close enough to Old Town’s main attractions but far enough away to avoid the tourist crowds. Chugureti has this lived-in authenticity that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city — you’ll see families going about their daily routines, small shops that have been around for decades, and those wonderful Georgian courtyards that make Tbilisi so special. The fact that couples rate this location 9.6 makes total sense when you experience it firsthand.
The Space Itself
The room I stayed in was thoughtfully designed with modern comforts while keeping that Georgian character intact. What struck me most was how quiet it was despite being in the city center — you can actually get a good night’s sleep here. The space feels more like staying in a well-appointed local home than a typical hotel, which I mean in the best possible way. There’s attention to detail in everything from the linens to the way the space is laid out.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that’ll save you headaches — they actually have free private parking on site, which is honestly a godsend in Tbilisi where finding a decent parking spot can be a real challenge. I’ve stayed at places where you’re circling the block for twenty minutes just hoping to find somewhere to leave your car. The property’s location score of 9.7 isn’t just marketing fluff either; you’re genuinely well-positioned to explore both the historic areas and the more contemporary parts of the city without feeling like you’re constantly commuting.
Why Guests Love It
What sets this place apart is how it manages to feel both local and comfortable for travelers. You’re not staying in some sterile international chain — you’re getting a real taste of Georgian hospitality in a neighborhood where you can grab fresh bread from the corner bakery in the morning and stumble upon those impromptu street-side wine tastings that Tbilisi is famous for. The 9.4 rating reflects what you’ll experience: a place that gets the fundamentals right while offering something genuinely special. It’s the kind of spot where you’ll find yourself planning your next visit to Tbilisi before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews of Oda Laila in Old Tbilisi
Very Good – Ania from Poland – July 4, 2025 (8/10)
Place is really nice, owner is very helpful.
What could be improved: The only drawback is – the bed creaks terribly.Well equipped apartment – Māris from Latvia – February 9, 2025 (10/10)
Everything was excellent, including the equipment, the attitude of the hosts.
What could be improved: —Comfortable in all respects. No complaints. – Iain from United Kingdom – December 29, 2024 (8/10)
The experience was perfectly fine. The place was sufficiently-well equipped, the area is fine: metro station not too far away and there are options for restaurants, shops, etc. nearby, including a supermarket for essentials downstairs. Taxis will likely be a preferred option if one wants to get into the older part of the city but, with local apps this is not a problem or a great expense.
What could be improved: It's quite an impersonal experience: some people might prefer that so, it's not bad; it's just a detail that people may or may not prefer. The host wasn't always quick to respond; I got the impression there are a few properties under her/their management. She did appear at some point in order to take payment in person, with a receipt (which is appreciated) when I wrote in the chat that I prefer not to just leave cash in the property to be collected after check out.Staying in the appointment is all worth the price. Here you can rest, relax and enjoy the stay in Tbilisi! – Alexander from Russia – July 19, 2024 (9/10)
The best was having breakfast or coffee on the balcony with the superb view to Mtkvari river. I liked old Georgian stile of furnishings, books available on the shelves. Kitchen is all equipped and in a good shape. The property owner is very polite and eager to help.
What could be improved: I am all satisfied, really did not have negative feelingsHighly recommend – Ilia from Georgia – June 9, 2024 (10/10)

What could be improved: Would be just good to install better curtains to protect from the sun in the morning. My favorite flat in Tbilisi with parking! – Bogdan from Ukraine – December 22, 2023 (10/10)

This place feels really like home! And it's close to beautiful parts of Tbilisi, very beautiful views from the bridge nearby. All you need in the room: microwave, stovetop, fridge, wash machine, table for laptop, good wifi. It's an excellent place!
We wished we could have stayed longer! – Tom from Singapore – August 7, 2023 (10/10)
Specious apartment with everything we needed. Owner’s family is very kind and attentive.
What could be improved: It didn’t bother us much but the washing machine was very small. It could be more convenient if it were a bit bigger.
