Nova city center apartments Overview

Tbilisi is a city that keeps you guessing until you’re actually sitting on a balcony with the city lights flickering like fireflies. I landed there on a drizzle‑heavy Thursday, and the first thing that caught my eye was the unassuming façade of Nova city center apartments on 7/2 Leonidze Street. It’s not the flashiest address—no neon signs or a “welcome” marquee—but that’s what makes it feel like a secret spot that locals would tip their hats to if they were passing by. I remember the old brick on the building, a little mossed over, and the smell of baked potatoes drifting from a nearby bakery on Rustaveli. It’s a sensory start: the hiss of a kettle, the distant clank of a metro, the faint scent of coffee that’s been brewed for half an hour.

Checking in felt almost like a game of “who can find the hidden key first.” The front desk was a small, cheerful counter with a woman who greeted me in a mix of Georgian and English, and she handed the key with a quick “Good luck!” I’m honestly not sure if she was teasing or just being friendly. The keycard was a sleek, almost futuristic thing, and the entrance hall had this subtle, modern art piece that made you pause for a second—like a tiny, polished mirror reflecting the hallway’s soft lighting. Inside, the apartment was a two‑bedroom, one‑bath unit that had the kind of spaciousness you only get when the walls are thin enough to let in morning rain but thick enough to keep the city’s night buzz at a whisper. The living area is just big enough to throw a hoodie on the sofa and unwind, and the kitchenette is stocked with a kettle, a coffee machine, and a jar of locally roasted beans that you can test in the balcony’s small area. I tried a cup right after arriving, and the taste—earthy and bold—was the perfect antidote to the long flight.

The balcony itself is a game changer. It’s a narrow strip that opens onto Leonidze Street, and from there you get a panoramic view of the city’s silhouette. I’ve been to Tbilisi’s main avenues plenty of times, but seeing the light from the Mtatsminda funicular reflect on the old buildings was a little magic. I love the way the street vendors line up in the afternoons, selling fresh cabbage salad and the local “khinkali” dumplings that smell of cumin and garlic. The noise level is something I’d bring up because I’ve heard mixed reviews. Honestly, the apartment is quieter than I expected for a city center spot. The only real buzz is the occasional siren from the metro and the distant chatter of tourists. The sound of wind through the trees gives the place a surprisingly calm vibe, especially in the evenings when the city lights start to glow.

Parking can be a headache in Tbilisi, but there’s a tiny parking lot a block away from the building that’s surprisingly easy to find. I parked my car there, and the attendant was friendly, offering a discount because he knew the building’s management. As far as practical stuff goes, the Wi‑Fi is fast and reliable—something that’s a big plus after a long day of walking around the old town. The air conditioning is decent, though it sometimes kicks on at 4 PM, which is a bit earlier than I’d like. I also found that the building’s laundry service is a bit pricey, but the local laundromat on the corner of Leonidze and Rustaveli is only a five‑minute walk and much cheaper.

All in all, Nova city center apartments offers a slice of Tbilisi that feels both urban and personable. It’s not the most luxurious, but that’s part of its charm; you’re not in some distant hotel lobby, you’re right in the middle of the city’s rhythm. The walk to the Kura River is about ten minutes, and you can take in the sunset over the Vake Park from there. If you’re looking for a place that’s close to the action yet still gives you a quiet, comfortable retreat, this is a spot that I would definitely recommend to friends. Just remember to bring a small umbrella—Tbilisi loves to surprise you with a light shower at the most unexpected times.

Reviews of Nova city center apartments

  • Great Place to Stay – Ozzy from United Kingdom – August 26, 2025 (10/10)

First of all, apartment is clean and tidy. Smells good as well. It's a non noisy neighbourhood so getting a good sleep won't be a problem. Also, it's a well maintained apartment I must say. Secondly, the area is close to many spots that u may wish to visit. To add up, a Georgian resto is just a few steps away from the apartment complex. Thirdly, police visibility is a plus. As a tourist, u would definitely feel safe. Lastly, the host was so hospitable and approachable. I would definitely recommend this place if ur looking for a place to stay in the old Tbilisi area.

What could be improved: I think I just have to mention about the couch in the living area. I could feel the springs whenever I sit on it. The rest of the couch/sofa are still good except for that one spot I mentioned.
