New&Old Overview

First Impressions

Walking into New&Old feels like discovering a well-kept secret tucked away on Vakhtang Gorgasali’s quiet dead-end street. This four-star boutique property sits right in the heart of Tbilisi‘s Old Town, and honestly, the location alone makes it worth considering. The building itself has this charming mix of contemporary touches and traditional Georgian architecture — you know, the kind of place that feels authentically local without trying too hard. Every corner reveals thoughtful design choices that honor the city’s rich heritage.

The Perfect Spot

What really struck me about this place is how it manages to be incredibly central yet surprisingly peaceful. You’re literally steps away from the sulfur baths, the Narikala Fortress, and all those winding cobblestone streets that make Tbilisi so photogenic. Couples consistently rate the location 9.0 out of 10, and after spending time here, you understand why completely. You can walk to Rustaveli Avenue in about ten minutes, but when you want to escape the city buzz, this little dead-end street feels like your own private corner of the old city. The neighborhood offers an authentic experience that few hotels can match.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in perfectly captured that “new and old” concept the hotel’s named after. Modern amenities — good Wi-Fi, updated bathroom fixtures, comfortable bedding — but with thoughtful nods to Georgian design elements. The windows actually open, which isn’t always a given in historic properties. If you’re lucky enough to get one of the upper floors, you’ll catch glimpses of the city’s famous balconies and terracotta rooftops. It’s not huge, but it’s smartly designed and feels much more spacious than you’d expect.

Practical Perks

Here’s something that’ll make your life easier — they offer free parking, which is honestly a godsend in this part of Tbilisi. Try finding a parking spot near the Old Town on your own, and you’ll quickly appreciate this perk. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood and can point you toward the best khinkali spots or help you navigate the metro system. They’re not just reciting tourist brochures; these folks actually live here and have solid recommendations. Their local expertise truly enhances your stay.

Why Guests Love It

With a 9.2 rating and that impressive 9.5 location score, New&Old clearly hits the sweet spot for travelers who want to be in the thick of things without sacrificing comfort or quiet. It’s the kind of place where you can stumble back from a late dinner in the Old Town without worrying about taxi rides, yet still get a proper night’s sleep. The property feels intimate and welcoming to every visitor. There’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels connected to the neighborhood rather than isolated from it. This hotel truly understands what modern travelers seek.

Tbilisi hotels provide guests with comfortable accommodations in Georgia’s cultural capital, known for its legendary wine culture and unique architectural blend.

  • Worth to stay – Lana from Georgia – September 2, 2025 (10/10)

A little cozy apartment with a lovely vintage atmosphere. It has everything you might need – hairdryer, washing machine, microwave, iron, and more. Very suitable for families. The host is a very kind and understanding lady, who made us feel comfortable right away. The sweet neighbor lady who welcomed us during check-in also helped us in every situation. The apartment is very clean, quiet, and has convenient parking space.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Perfect place to stay in Tbilisi – Nele from Belgium – September 19, 2023 (9/10)

Located near the city, but very quiet. We especially liked the parking place. The apartment is cool, even when warm outside. It has airconditioning too. Shower was hot, there was everything for cooking and a washing machine. Luckily for us, the owner put our laundry aside because it started to rain and we left it outside. She did not speak english but we understood. Communication via whatsapp went very well with the son or daughter. If you are looking for a place in Tbilisi, you have found it!
