The city spreads out below you in this sort of organized chaos that makes perfect sense once you’ve been here a few days. What really impressed me was how quiet it stays up there, even though you’re right in the thick of things. The staff – and I’m not just saying this – genuinely seem to know their stuff about the neighborhood. They pointed me toward this little wine bar about ten minutes’ walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise, and honestly, it ended up being one of those perfect travel moments you can’t plan for.

The rooms themselves feel thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter fancy. Good lighting for actually reading, outlets where you need them, and – this sounds small but matters – the shower pressure is excellent. I’ve stayed at supposedly higher-end places where basic stuff like that falls short, so it’s refreshing when a place just works the way it should. The breakfast situation is solid too, though I’d recommend getting down there earlier rather than later if you want the full spread. By 9:30 or so, things start disappearing pretty quickly. What strikes me most about this place is how it fits into the city around it. You’re not stuck in some isolated hotel bubble – you can walk to the sulfur baths, wander through the old town, or just people-watch from one of the many cafes nearby. The whole area has this energy that’s hard to describe, where ancient fortress walls share space with trendy galleries and nobody seems to think that’s weird. Actually, that pretty much sums up why I’d come back to this hotel specifically – it doesn’t try to shield you from Tbilisi’s wonderful contradictions, it puts you right in the middle of them. Perfect rating aside (which honestly seems about right), it’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.
