Modern Apartment In Old Tbilisi Overview
I stayed in Tbilisi last spring, and let me tell you, the place I booked – Modern Apartment In Old Tbilisi – was a surprisingly cozy slice of the city’s old-world charm. From the moment I pulled up to 4 Dimitri Uznadze Street, the block buzzed with the familiar clatter of scooters and the scent of roasted chestnuts wafting from a vendor on the corner. The apartment itself feels like a well‑kept secret; the floor plan is the kind of open‑concept layout you’d see in a contemporary loft, yet it’s dotted with Georgian touches – a hand‑woven rug, a small brass plaque with the name of the building in Cyrillic. Check‑in was straightforward – the host sent a QR code to unlock the door, and the keycard was in a little wooden box on the front desk. No long lines, no over‑talking hotel staff – just a quick “welcome” and a map of the neighborhood.
The real magic starts once you step inside. The living area feels like a living room and a studio at once, with a sofa that actually folds into a queen bed. I mean, the mattress is a bit firm, but it’s comfortable enough for a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring. The kitchenette is surprisingly functional: a gas stove, a small fridge, a coffee maker that actually brews decent espresso. I spent a lot of time there, sipping black coffee while watching the street below – the traffic of the Baku road, the rhythmic honking of the old tram line, the occasional shout from a nearby vendor. The window framing the view of the old bridge is a bit dusty, but the view of the city’s rooftops at sunset is worth the extra effort. The bathroom, though tiny, has a walk‑in shower with a good water pressure – no soap scum, just a clean, bright tile that reflects the morning sun. The only thing that could use a little love is the Wi‑Fi; the connection drops sometimes during the peak hours of the day, but for a short trip that’s not a deal‑breaker.
Now, about the neighborhood – it’s a real gem if you’re into that “walkable city” vibe. The apartment is close to the Metekhi Tower, where you can climb a bit and get a panoramic view of the old city and the river. A short walk takes you to the Baku road, a bustling street packed with food stalls and souvenir shops – perfect for a quick lunch of khachapuri. If you’re into history, just head east to the Old Bridge, and you’ll find the tiny museum of folk arts nearby. For a quieter spot, there’s a small park behind the building where locals gather for morning yoga; I spotted a group on Sunday mornings, and the chatter in Georgian was a comforting backdrop. Parking can be a hassle – the street is narrow, and you’ll need to look for a spot in the adjacent block, but the building does offer a small paid parking area for guests, which is handy if you’re driving. Noise-wise, the apartment is pretty well insulated, but at night the traffic on Dimitri Uznadze Street can be a bit loud; I’d recommend earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.
All in all, I’d say this place is an honest, affordable slice of Tbilisi that gives you that old‑town vibe without all the tourist traps. The host was friendly and quick to respond – just a text to let you know the door was ready when you arrived. The only critique I have is that the Wi‑Fi can be spotty, and the mattress is firm, but those are minor inconveniences compared to the overall experience. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a home rather than a hotel, with easy access to the city’s main sights and a real sense of the local rhythm, this apartment is a solid choice.

Exceptional – Viktoriia from Russia – March 30, 2023 (10/10)
Хорошее расположение квартиры, недалеко от старого города. Рядом магазины небольшие, станция метро. Отличная хозяйка, встречала и заселила раньше времени! На кухне всего достаточно для приготовления любых блюд! Квартира на последнем этаже.
