I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Metekhi Corner Apartments, I wasn’t expecting much from what seemed like just another apartment-style accommodation. But walking into this place completely changed my perspective on where to stay in Tbilisi. The location alone had me sold within minutes of stepping outside, because you’re literally perched right above the old town with these incredible views that stretch across the Mtkvari River and up to Narikala Fortress. I mean, you can’t get much more central than this without actually sleeping in a museum.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between having your own space and getting proper hotel-level service. The apartments themselves feel genuinely lived-in rather than sterile – there’s actual personality in the design choices, and honestly, the kitchenettes are way better equipped than I expected. You know what I loved? The little details like having proper coffee cups instead of those flimsy hotel ones, and the fact that the Wi-Fi actually works consistently (which, let’s face it, isn’t always a given in this part of the world). The 4-star rating feels spot-on because while it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, everything just works really well.

The neighborhood itself is what makes this place special though. You’re a two-minute walk from the sulfur baths – and I actually recommend going early morning when the locals go, not during the tourist rush – and the evening stroll down to Rike Park is pretty magical when the city lights start reflecting off the water. Parking can be a bit tricky around here (it’s old Tbilisi, after all), but the staff actually knows the area well enough to give you real advice, not just tourist pamphlet suggestions. I stayed here during both the busy summer season and a quieter winter visit, and honestly, the winter experience was almost better – fewer crowds, but you still get that cozy feeling of being right in the heart of everything. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there, because while it might not be the fanciest place in the city, it’s the kind of spot where everything just clicks and you end up extending your stay.

  The apartment host Mr. David is a very nice helpful person, he suggested us some travel tips and provided all the amenities we needed. The area is very calm and close to the center, it took us 10 minute walk till the main touristic places. I would definitely recommend staying here 😊

  David is so kind, calm and helpful. We seriously had a problem with the key (can’t lock or unlocked the door) but they offered to come and helped us out immediately. Before we left, David gave us Oreo! What a generous guy 🥰
