Metekhi Boutique Hotel Overview

Metekhi Boutique Hotel is tucked into a quiet corner of Tbilisi, right on Mefe Solomon Brdzeni Street where the city’s pulse slows a bit but still keeps you connected to everything you’ll want to see. I walked in on a rainy Tuesday, and the first thing you notice is that the front desk feels like a conversation with an old friend—no stiff, robotic greetings, just a warm “Good morning, how can I help you?” The staff are quick to offer you a map of the city in both Georgian and English, which is a lifesaver because you’re not going to find street names on Google Maps the same way they’re written on paper. I also found that the check‑in line was surprisingly short; they’re not a big chain, so the staff can’t handle the kind of rush you get at a hotel in a tourist hotspot. If you’re a quiet early‑bird, you’ll be glad there’s a small rooftop garden where the staff can hand you a cup of tea and a free Wi‑Fi password while you watch the sunrise over the city.

The rooms are a mix of industrial chic and Georgian comfort. The one I stayed in had a plush, over‑stuffed bed that felt like a hug, a tiny balcony with a view of a nearby alley filled with graffiti artists, and a bathroom with a shower that smells faintly of eucalyptus—like a spa, but not over the top. The walls are painted in muted earth tones that match the stone façade outside, and each room has a small, black tabletop lamp that gives off a warm, amber glow; it’s the kind of lighting that makes you want to read a book instead of scrolling your phone. I appreciated the extra space in the closet—no cramped shoe racks. The only gripe was that the built‑in speaker system is a bit on the low‑end; if you enjoy blasting your playlist, you’ll want to bring a Bluetooth speaker. But honestly, for a 4‑star stay, the noise from the street is minimal. The building’s walls are thick, so you can’t hear the traffic or the occasional night‑time chatter from the neighboring cafés.

If you’re like me and love local flavor, you’ll want to step out into the neighborhood. Right across the street you’ll find a small bakery that sells khachapuri that still smells like fresh cheese—no synthetic aromas here. A few blocks away is the old town, and I recommend walking to the Sameba Cathedral; the view from the front steps is a postcard‑perfect moment. For a touch of nature, Vake Park is a 10‑minute walk and the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. If you’re traveling in the summer, you’ll notice the hotel’s rooftop garden gets a bit crowded, but the staff are good at keeping the noise down. Parking is a bit of a hassle; the street is narrow and cars are a common sight, so I parked in a nearby paid lot and walked in. The bike rack is handy if you’re not keen on driving—there are a few places you can rent a bike for a few hours. In short, Metekhi Boutique Hotel feels like a secret pocket in Tbilisi: not too touristy, not too remote, and with a vibe that feels more like a local’s home than a commercial establishment. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay a little longer because you’re already rooting for the next sunrise.

Hotels in Tbilisi offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Caucasian gem, with easy access to museums, thermal baths, and traditional restaurants.

Reviews of Metekhi Boutique Hotel

  • Best stay during our trip through Georgia – Dmitrii from Azerbaijan – September 1, 2025 (10/10)

Really friendly staff, awesome view from the roof, spacious bathroom, comfortable bed, very good location. Thank you for these days!

What could be improved: Only one: translucent curtain on the window, so light affected my sleep in the morning (I had to use a sleep mask)

  • Exceptional – Veris from Russia – August 31, 2025 (10/10)

Good location for quiet rest lovers, but close to busy noisy streets. Polite and friendly staff. Delicious and variable breakfasts.

  • Lovely stay – Dulali from United Arab Emirates – August 17, 2025 (10/10)

  • Good hotel and good value – Brigitte from Australia – August 2, 2025 (9/10)

Great hotel located 5 minutes walk from all the action . Clean newer hotel in what at first looks like a strange location but walk 200 mts and you realise you are right in the thick of it. Cute balcony to sip a local wine ( and reception will kindly open it for you) great value for money and a large comfortable room and bed. All staff super friendly and a simple but good breakfast. Little corner grocery store 100mts away or bigger supermarket 400mts away.

What could be improved: OK would love a 2nd pillow each but that's just preference.

  • Exceptional – Davit from Armenia – July 28, 2025 (10/10)

Everything was perfect! The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Highly recommended

  • It was comfortable stay close to the city center – Fiona from Switzerland – July 28, 2025 (10/10)

Good location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast

What could be improved: The door of the room was a it hard to close, bit that‘s a detail.

  • Exceptional – Johannes from Denmark – July 25, 2025 (10/10)

Good location near the center of town, spacious room, decent breakfast, good quality for an affordable price.

  • Wonderful – Tali from Israel – July 25, 2025 (9/10)

Prime location. However, it was difficult to find upon arrival as there was no sign on the door, or a street number, and the direction link on the booking was 3 houses down the block.
