The front desk clerk (I think his name was Giorgi) didn’t just give me the standard tourist map – he actually marked out this little wine bar tucked behind Narikala Fortress that I never would have found otherwise. The rooms are solid 4-star quality, nothing revolutionary but clean and comfortable with decent soundproofing, which matters because Old Town can get pretty lively at night. I stayed on the fourth floor and honestly loved falling asleep to the distant sounds of people wandering the streets below. The bathrooms are modern and spacious, though the shower pressure could be better – but that’s pretty typical for this part of the city where the plumbing dates back decades.

Here’s the thing about location – you’re walking distance to literally everything that matters. Meidan Square is right there, the sulfur baths are a five-minute stroll, and you can climb up to Narikala without breaking a sweat (well, maybe a little sweat). What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the hotel between sightseeing sessions, especially during those hot summer afternoons when the sun gets brutal. The neighborhood gets quiet around midnight, so it’s not like you’re dealing with party central all night. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving – there’s no dedicated hotel garage, but there’s a public lot about two blocks away. The breakfast is actually quite good with a nice mix of international options and some Georgian specialties, though it gets crowded around 9 AM when tour groups roll through. With an 8.9 rating, this place is clearly doing something right, and after three nights there, I totally get why. It’s one of those hotels where you feel like you’re staying in the real Tbilisi, not some sanitized tourist bubble.
