Melikishvili str. apartment Overview
When I first walked up to Tbilisi on Petre Melikishvili Street, I could already tell this was going to be a special place. The building is a quiet, two‑storey apartment block that’s been lovingly renovated—think minimalist Georgian chic with a splash of old‑world charm. Check‑in is a breeze: the front desk is on the ground floor, and the staff greet you with a warm smile and a quick rundown of the Wi‑Fi password, which works flawlessly even in the city’s notoriously spotty spots. You’ll notice they’re not just friendly; they’re locals who actually know the best spots around you, like the tiny café on the corner that serves the most authentic khachapuri (and the one that drinks your coffee even when you’re not there).
The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for 4 stars. The living area opens onto a small balcony that offers a view of the bustling street below—here, you hear the distant clatter of buses, the occasional bark of a stray dog, and the faint hum of a radio from a neighbor’s apartment. It’s the kind of background noise that makes you feel at home without being intrusive. The room is decorated with soft neutral tones, a plush mattress that feels like sleeping on a cloud, and a flat‑screen TV with a decent selection of streaming services. The bathroom is a clean, modern oasis: the shower has a good water pressure, and the toiletries are perfumed with a subtle, almost floral scent that’s not overpowering. Honestly, the only thing that could be better is a larger wardrobe, but you can always fold your clothes into the hanging organizer that comes with the apartment.
Parking near Petre Melikishvili Street is a bit of a hunt in the summer, but there are a few paid lots on the opposite side of the street that offer a decent rate, and the building itself has a small, secure parking bay for residents. Noise is usually low after 10 pm—although if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs because the city’s nightlife can seep in on the night shift. The best time to visit is late spring or early fall; the streets are lively but not overcrowded, and the weather is pleasantly mild. If you’re planning a trip in the high season (July‑August), be prepared for the traffic to be a bit heavier and the local coffee shops to be busier. Still, the apartment’s central location means you can hop on a tram to Rustaveli Avenue or a quick walk to the Old Town in no time. It’s the kind of place that feels like a secret hide‑out in the heart of the city—one that I’d recommend to anyone who wants a cozy, authentic base in Tbilisi without the hotel‑hotel vibe.

What could be improved: NoVery comfortable 2 bedroom apartment – Patricia from Austria – January 6, 2025 (9/10)
It was a very nice accomodation with everything that one needs to feel comfortable. A full-equipped kitchen, sofa and TV to relax, 2 bedrooms although we haven‘t used the 2nd one because our 22 month-old child still sleeps with us but still useful to put extra clothes or bags. Very central and close to main shops and highlights, with good public transportation connections. The host was very nice and always concerned about our well-being. She even brought a small puppy to our small child to play with. If we go there again, we won‘t hesitate to choose it again.

Baranova from Ukraine – May 4, 2025 (10/10)
