MD Apart Tbilisi Overview
When I first stepped out of the metro at Tbilisi‘s central station, I was already feeling the buzz of the city—honestly, the air smelled like roasted chestnuts and fresh coffee from the street vendors. I had my eyes set on the MD Apart Tbilisi, a sleek 4‑star spot tucked between Navtlughi Street and the little café that serves the best khachapuri in the old town. The check‑in was quick, the front desk clerk (a friendly Georgian named Lasha) handed me a key card with a smile that said, “You’re home.” He even tossed a small bag of local honey on the counter—nice touch, I mean.
The apartment itself was spacious, with a bright loft layout that opened onto a tiny balcony overlooking the neighborhood’s rooftops. The décor was modern but not sterile; the room was furnished in earthy tones that felt like a soft hug. I noticed that the windows were heavy‑draped, which kept the midnight traffic noise at bay, so I could actually sleep after the day’s wanderings. The bed was a king‑size with memory foam that remembered the shape of my back after a long walk. The bathroom had a walk‑in shower with a rainhead, and the tiles were matte, not that shiny, glossy kind that makes you feel like you’re in a hotel hotel. (I liked it.)
Parking was a hassle, though. There’s no dedicated spot, so you have to juggle a couple of street stalls or a small paid lot a block away. I ended up haggling with a guy for a spot beside a delivery van, which felt a little hectic in the rush of the morning. The price was reasonable, but it’s something you have to plan for if you’re driving. Noise-wise, the apartment’s proximity to Navtlughi Street meant the hum of the city was a constant background soundtrack—soft enough to not disturb the sleep but loud enough to remind you that you’re in the heart of Tbilisi. I enjoyed the late‑night chatter from a neighboring flat—there was a mix of locals and tourists, all talking about the best spots for wine and dumplings.
Speaking of spots, the list of nearby places is endless. I spent a morning strolling down Shota Rustaveli Avenue, grabbing a latte at the café on 19th Street that has a window overlooking the old part of the city. The next day, I took a quick walk to the small park near the city hall, where a group of kids were playing a game of football in a half‑filled field. I also ventured into the old town’s narrow lanes, where the scent of wood smoke mingles with the aroma of spice‑laden restaurants. For dinner, I hit the bistro on Abanotubani, a place locals swear by for its “khinkali with a twist.” The food was decent, the portion sizes generous, and the service was a little slow, but the chilled wine I ordered made up for it. I’d recommend trying the local wine at the bar on the 2nd floor of the MD Apart; it’s a small, cozy spot that offers a panoramic view of the city lights at night—perfect for a quiet evening.
All in all, staying at MD Apart Tbilisi was a genuinely warm experience. While the parking was a bit of a scramble, the convenience of having a spacious apartment with modern amenities, coupled with the location that lets you feel the pulse of Tbilisi, made it worth every ruble. I’d say it’s a solid choice for someone who wants to immerse themselves in the local vibe, taste the city’s culinary diversity, and still have a comfortable, quiet home base. The rating of 8.8 speaks for itself, and honestly, I can’t wait to return for a longer stay next summer, just to explore more of the hidden gems that Tbilisi keeps around every corner.
