The beds are genuinely comfortable – not just hotel-marketing comfortable – and I actually found myself sleeping better than I do at home. There’s this ambient lighting system that gradually dims in the evening, which sounds gimmicky but actually works. The bathroom setup is particularly clever, with heated floors that activate when you step on them and a mirror that displays the weather while you’re getting ready. What I really appreciated was that all the tech stuff has manual overrides, so if you’re not into the smart features or something glitches, you’re not stuck.

The service level here is what you’d expect from a solid four-star place – attentive without being intrusive, and the staff genuinely seems to know how all the technology works, which isn’t always a given at tech-forward hotels. Check-in was smooth, they actually walked me through the room features without making it feel like a sales pitch, and when I had a minor issue with the app connectivity, someone was up to fix it within minutes. The common areas have this cozy, almost boutique feel, and there’s usually a good mix of business travelers and leisure guests without either group dominating the atmosphere. I stayed during what seemed like a busy period, but the soundproofing between rooms is excellent – something that’s becoming rarer these days. The only minor downside is that if you’re someone who prefers completely unplugged travel, all the smart features might feel like overkill, but even then, you can just ignore most of them and treat it like a regular (albeit very nice) hotel room.
