Margot Sololaki Overview
You know what really struck me about Margot Sololaki when I first walked in? It’s got this effortless elegance that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard – and honestly, that’s pretty rare in the boutique hotel scene these days. The place sits right in the heart of Sololaki, which is probably my favorite neighborhood in Tbilisi if I’m being completely honest. I mean, you’re walking distance from all the old carved balconies and winding cobblestone streets that make this part of the city so damn photogenic, but you’re not dealing with the tourist circus that can sometimes overwhelm Old Town proper.
The hotel itself feels like someone’s incredibly stylish relative decided to open their doors to travelers – there’s this lived-in sophistication that I really appreciated. The lobby has these gorgeous high ceilings and original architectural details that they’ve preserved beautifully, mixed with contemporary Georgian art that actually means something (not just random prints to fill wall space). My room was spacious by European standards, with windows that opened wide enough to let in that perfect cross-breeze you get in Tbilisi during spring and fall. The bathroom was honestly better than I expected from a 4-star – good water pressure, which isn’t always a given in this part of the world, and toiletries that didn’t smell like generic hotel soap. One tiny thing though – the air conditioning could be a bit more robust during those sweltering July afternoons when Tbilisi turns into an oven.
What I loved most was how the staff actually seemed to care about the neighborhood they’re in. The front desk guy (I think his name was Giorgi?) gave me these incredibly specific walking directions to places I never would have found otherwise – like this tiny wine bar tucked behind Rustaveli Avenue where locals go after work, or the best khachapuri spot that’s literally a five-minute walk but completely invisible unless you know what you’re looking for. The breakfast spread was solid too, though don’t expect anything revolutionary – just really good Georgian bread, local cheeses, and coffee that’s actually drinkable. Check-in was smooth, and they let me store my bags for a few hours after checkout without any fuss, which saved my last day of wandering around the city. With an 8.7 rating, it’s clearly doing something right, and after staying there, I get it. It’s not flashy or Instagram-obsessed – it’s just a really well-run place that understands what travelers actually want when they’re exploring Tbilisi.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Tbilisi through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s wine culture and architectural heritage.

We loved our stay at Margot Sololaki. Very friendly and helpful staff with 24/7 service at the reception. They cleaned our room everyday. We really enjoyed our stay in Tbilisi, the location and the poolterrace was 10/10! Sololaki is a very cozy neighbourhood and not too far from old city. Would definitely stay here again next time in Tbilisi.
