Madera Hotel Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Madera Hotel on M. Tumanishvili Street, you immediately sense this isn’t your typical four-star property. The building has this understated elegance that feels distinctly Georgian — not trying too hard to impress, but somehow managing to do exactly that. I mean, the entrance alone tells you the owners actually care about details, which honestly isn’t always a given in Tbilisi.
Location & Getting Around
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re genuinely in the heart of things without being stuck in tourist chaos. The street itself is quiet enough that you’ll actually sleep well, but step out and you’re minutes from the old town’s cobblestone charm. I’ve stayed in places that claim great locations, but this one delivers. You know what’s really convenient? The way you can walk to most of the city’s highlights, and when your feet give out, taxis find you easily here. The neighborhood offers excellent walkability with nearby shops, cafes, and cultural attractions within easy reach.
The Room Experience
The room I stayed in had this perfect balance — modern comfort without losing that Georgian character. The beds are actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), and the bathrooms feel properly updated. What struck me most was the attention to lighting — they’ve figured out how to make spaces feel warm rather than sterile. The windows are well-positioned too, so you get natural light without street noise becoming an issue. Each apartment-style suite includes thoughtful amenities and maintains consistent quality throughout the property.
Dining & Daily Rhythms
The hotel’s restaurant serves food that feels authentic rather than dumbed down for international guests. I appreciated that — you’re in Georgia, after all, so why not eat like it? Breakfast has both local and familiar options, which works well when you’re traveling with someone who’s maybe less adventurous. The staff here actually knows the neighborhood, so their restaurant recommendations tend to be solid rather than just the obvious tourist spots. The culinary experience reflects genuine Georgian hospitality and regional flavors.
Why Guests Love It
Honestly, it’s the combination of things that makes this place work. The location gets you where you want to go without the chaos, the service feels genuine rather than scripted, and the whole experience just flows smoothly. Couples particularly seem to appreciate the atmosphere here — there’s something romantic about the setting without it being overly themed or artificial. The 8.8 rating makes sense when you actually stay here; it’s one of those places that delivers on its promises without overselling itself. This four-star hotel successfully balances modern amenities with authentic local character, making it an exceptional choice for discerning travelers.

Svetlana from Georgia (9/10)
The hotel exceeded all my expectations. The location is the very center of Tbilisi, two minutes walk from the central avenue, but on a quiet street away from the noise. The hotel has its own small courtyard where you can relax, listen to the birds singing. The staff is very kind and attentive to each guest. Inside the room is big, perfectly clean, recently renovated, orthopedic mattress of excellent quality, beautiful design, a lot of interesting details. It was cold outside in May, but the heating was on inside, they take care of the guests. Breakfast is continental: cornflakes with milk, boiled egg, ham, cheese, bread, coffee or tea. You can make your own hot sandwich in a toaster. I recommend Madera Hotel for accommodation in Tbilisi. Thank you very much and good luck!
