I stepped out of the subway and into the narrow, cobblestone streets of old Tbilisi, and honestly, the first thing that struck me was how the city practically breathes around the M & L Old Tbilisi. The building itself looks like a relic—brick and stone, with a little balcony that looks out over Salami Street, where you can hear the distant clink of cups from a café and the occasional jingle of a street‑vendor’s bell. The check‑in was pretty smooth; the staff were friendly, but you really have to bring your passport if you want that quick ID check (they’re conscientious, which is a plus). They handed me a key card and a little brochure that listed a handful of nearby spots—Vani Bridge, the sulfur baths, the Metekhi Church—places I hadn’t even known existed until I was there.

The room itself was a neat blend of old charm and modern touch. The bedding was crisp, the towels felt like fresh laundry, and there was a little balcony with a view of the bustling street below—you could almost taste the roasted chestnuts from a stall nearby. The bathroom had a deep, clean shower and a small but effective rain shower head; no fancy spa, but it was what you’d expect from a 4‑star in this part of the city. Wi‑fi was spotty during rush hour, but the hotel offers a free hotspot on the roof, so I was able to stream a few episodes while sipping tea (the tea service is surprisingly good, with a small pot of local black tea that smells like cinnamon). Parking is a bit of a joke—there’s a tiny, shared parking lot behind the building, and you’ll have to walk a few steps uphill; but I didn’t mind, because I prefer to stroll and soak in the historic streets. Noise-wise, the night is lively—locals are chatting, music from a nearby bar drifts through the air, but the room itself is well insulated enough that I could sleep through the evening chatter.

Every evening, I’d make my way down to the foot of Mtatsminda Railway Station, where a crowd of artists, street performers, and a few baristas with latte art would gather. The hotel’s proximity to the Old Town is a huge plus; you’re literally a stone’s throw from the ancient churches and the original city walls. I found that the locals were friendly but somewhat reserved, so the hotel’s staff did a great job filling that gap with a warm welcome. The only critique I have is that the breakfast menu could use a bit more variety—most of the offerings were just pastries and a small fruit bowl, which is fine for a quick bite but feels a bit limited for a 4‑star experience. However, the overall vibe is cozy and authentic, and the rating of 9.

Hotel in Tbilisi booking should be done early, especially during harvest season when the city hosts internationally celebrated wine festivals and cultural events.

  The apartment was great! Very clean, with plenty of natural light, cosy and functional. Situated in a beautiful old city neighbourhood on the hill. The balcony was such a pleasant bonus – having a morning coffee or a late night glass of wine with an amazing view (thank you for the nice bottle of wine!) – added to the feeling of peaceful relaxation.
  The transfer from the airport (at 4AM), arranged by the owners (for an extra fee) was also very convenient.

  What could be improved: There is a restaurant just outside the apartment that can be quite noisy (a few days a week). But usually the partying and the music end around midnight and afterwards it's very quiet.

  Wszystko w porządku, fajna dzielnica, koty z sąsiedztwa też zachodziły do nas 🙂 Lokal jest na starym mieście, bardzo ciasne i strome uliczki, więc
  jeśli masz auto, najlepiej zostaw je w podziemnym parkingu w okolicy niedalekiego ronda.
  
  What could be improved: Jeśli jesteś w tym lokalu w więcej niż dwie osoby, z pewnością będzie brakowało Ci drzwi do sypialni. Jest to według mnie jedyna wada tego apartamentu.

  Месторасположение. Сам домик и апартаменты в нем. Виды из окна. Очень отзывчивые хозяева. Сначала нас заселили в апартаменты без балкончика, но по нашей просьбе переселили, когда освободились с балконом. Очень просторно, чисто, комфортно, есть все необходимое для проживания.

  What could be improved: Кто не может/не любит подниматься вверх по лестнице, этот вариант может не понравиться. Кто любит фитнес – для того самое то.

  Labai gera vieta, pačiame centre. Bute radome visko ko reikia mūsų atostogoms. Malonūs šeimininkai, kurie mus pasitiko su automobiliu ir palydėjo iki būsto. Švaru ir tvarkinga.

  Очень понравились апартаменты, хозяйка замечательная и очень доброжелательная. В ночь перед прилетели нам отменили бронь в другом месте, пришлось срочно искать что-то новое, сложность была в раннем заезде (5 утра). Хозяйка оперативно ответила на запрос, была на связи, все рассказала. Апартаменты находятся в самом центре старого города, из окна открывается потрясающий вид (но в номер нужно подниматься достаточно высоко, учитывайте это), все необходимое есть. В общем мы остались очень довольны, спасибо большое.

  Очень понравилось. Месторасположение отличное, в самом сердце старого города, в пешей доступности ко всему. В аппартаментах есть всё необходимое, продумано до мелочей. С балкончика великолепный вид на город. Трансфер в обе стороны, даже с учетом огромной задержки в день прилета( отдельное спасибо Ливану). Аня, мардлоба, приедем обязательно еще😊, и только к Вам.
