Mtatsminda is where you want to be, trust me on this one. You’re close enough to walk down to the old town when you want that tourist experience, but far enough up the hill that you escape the crowds and noise. I mean, you can actually hear birds in the morning instead of traffic — that’s saying something in Tbilisi. The area has this residential feel with tree-lined streets, and there are some excellent local cafes within a few blocks that most visitors never discover. Plus, if you’re traveling as a couple, the whole neighborhood has this romantic, slightly bohemian vibe that works perfectly for evening strolls.

The room I stayed in was genuinely impressive — spacious by European standards and decorated with this modern Georgian aesthetic that somehow manages to feel both contemporary and rooted in local culture. The bed was comfortable (actually comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that you end up using as an excuse to stay in longer than planned. What I really loved was the attention to lighting; they’ve got it figured out so you’re not dealing with harsh overhead lights or trying to read by a dim bedside lamp.

Practical Perks

The staff here genuinely knows what they’re doing — they’re helpful without being hovering, which is a balance that’s harder to achieve than you’d think. Parking is available, which is actually a big deal in this part of the city where street parking can be a nightmare. The Wi-Fi works properly throughout the building (I tested it), and they’ve got that smart approach to amenities where everything you actually need is there, but they’re not cluttering the space with stuff you’ll never use. The common areas have this relaxed sophistication that makes you want to linger with a coffee or glass of wine.

  Great quite place in the very central district of Tbilisi. You could go by walk to most of sightseeings, very cute balcony with little coffee table where you can have morning coffee or glass of wine in the evening with a beautiful view,
  Nice welcome by the host named Georgi, real master of his field, he was ready for all our asking and requirement, we were happily confused that he brought literally everything we asked for, thumbs up for George and thums up for apartment!!!
  Also i want to recomment Georgian wine named Khvantchakra, I tried it in restaurant and it was so delicious i asked wrote down it’s name in my notes:) thank you Tbilisi, Georgia!

  I cannot say enough amazing things about the place!!!!
  When my wife and I arrived, was waiting for us and they showed us around and brought our bags up for us. Since this was our first time to Tbilisi, shared with us recommended places to eat and visit. He also was extremely helpful and called us a cab for our checkout when we asked.
  The entire experience was wonderful. Probably the best palace in Tbilisi!! If you are going to Tbilisi you HAVE to stay here!!!!!

  My trip to Tbilisi was very good. Hosts were very kind and gentle! And the house is very clean and cozy, with a very nice terrace in a fantastic place!! I am computer worker so fast wifi was big bonus for me, Especially i want to mention soft mattresses, they were the softest i’ve ever slept on, also We could see night view of the Mtatsminda mountain which was really beautiful in balcony.
