Lana Apartment Overview
Tbilisi, the city that never really sleeps, has a neighborhood that feels like a hidden pocket of history and modern hustle. I stumbled onto this gem when I was wandering down Gomi Street, which is just a stone’s throw from the Old Town’s cobblestone maze. The Lana Apartment sits at 2 Gomi Street, 0105, and it’s this mix of Georgian charm and contemporary flair that makes it a standout. I mean, the building itself has that old brick facade that you’d expect in the city center, but the interior is all fresh paint, a loft‑style layout, and a little balcony that offers a view of the city’s skyline at sunset—well, not the whole skyline, but enough to see the Militia Hill and a hint of Mtatsminda. It’s a quiet spot, especially since the main street is a bit noisy at night, but the walls are thick enough that you don’t hear the traffic roar. The apartment’s kitchen is compact, yet it comes with a stovetop, a microwave, and a small fridge, plus a pile of local recipes in the fridge that I felt like trying out. I had the chance to whip up a quick khachapuri, and honestly, the sauce was so good it made me think about all the street food stalls you find on Rustaveli Avenue.
Check‑in is super laid‑back. The host is a friendly local guy who lives in the building, and he leaves a lockbox on the landing—so no hassle with a 24‑hour front desk. The lockbox key chart is in the apartment, and I was able to unlock the door by 10 a.m. the next morning, no fuss. The Wi‑Fi is decent for streaming a documentary on the local history of Tbilisi, though I did notice a brief drop during the night when the city’s power grid does a little dance. Noise-wise, the apartment is pretty quiet after 10 p.m., but if you’re a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs because the city’s nightlife sometimes bleeds through. Parking is a bit of a hunt: there’s no dedicated spot, but street parking is available if you’re willing to walk a few minutes down to the adjacent block. If you’re more comfortable with a garage, there’s a small paid lot a block away that takes a little extra cash.
The real charm, though, is the sense of community. I met the host one evening when I was looking for a good spot to grab a drink; he pointed me toward a tiny café that serves the best kharcho in town, a place that locals swear by. He also mentioned that the next Sunday market is happening near the Gomi Square, where you can buy fresh apricots, pickled peppers, and handmade soaps—great for a small souvenir. And if you’re craving something sweet, there’s a bakery on the corner of Gomi and Vake that sells the most authentic baklava. The apartment is just a short walk from the Tbilisi Botanical Garden, so it’s perfect if you want to escape the city’s buzz for a couple of hours. All in all, staying at the Lana Apartment felt like having a home base that’s both connected to the pulse of Tbilisi and offering a private refuge to recharge. And honestly, the little touches—like the handwritten welcome note and the local guidebook I received—made it feel like a friend’s apartment rather than a hotel stay.

Reviews of Lana Apartment
Exceptional – Jimmy from Sweden – January 30, 2023 (10/10)
Very kind hosts, mum and daughter. Central located in the old town. Well equipped kitchen. Large sofa, good TV with many channels, comfortable bed. Warm flat. Provided taxi service.
What could be improved: Not so good English.Disappointing – Charlie from United Kingdom – August 9, 2025 (4/10)
Good air con and washing machine
What could be improved: The layout was not as described, only has one room rather than a bedroom and a living room.
Oven didn’t work
People sat outside chatting well into the night. They smoked as well which went into the room and made it stink!Air freshener needed but fine – Josephine from United Kingdom – June 19, 2025 (6/10)
Really great location in the old town. Friendly staff, everything you need for a short stay
What could be improved: It had a strong unpleasant smell like it really needed airing, maybe stale smoke from a previous smoking guest I don’t know. A bit dingy there in the basementPoor – Cagalawan from Saudi Arabia – November 2, 2024 (5/10)
Location only
What could be improved: The lady owner don't care her guest! We called her on the phone for some problems in the room heater? We called her twice but seems she is deaf! She never answer our call or returned call ! Very bad attitude lady owner. The apartment is untidy and old. The toilet is very small! The bed sheet is old and smelly! Her apartment is not worth of paying 50 laris! Lastly? She did not provide towels!!! Overpriced of her apartment!Wonderful – Larisa from Armenia – September 20, 2023 (9/10)
Yan from Belarus – October 16, 2022 (9/10)
What could be improved: – Tatjana from Kazakhstan – June 29, 2023 (7/10)
What could be improved: Very Good – Kristinavii from Russia – July 29, 2025 (8/10)
Exceptional – Лариса from Russia – August 7, 2025 (10/10)
What could be improved:
Exceptional – Julia from Russia – July 15, 2025 (10/10)
