King Gorgasali Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to King Gorgasali on a narrow cobblestone street in Old Town Tbilisi, you immediately get that feeling you’ve stumbled onto something special. This four-star boutique hotel sits right in the heart of the historic district, and honestly, the location couldn’t be better — couples especially seem to love it here, rating the spot nearly perfect for romantic getaways. The building itself has this wonderful Georgian charm that feels authentic rather than touristy, which is refreshing in a city where some places try too hard to capture that old-world vibe.
The Neighborhood
You know what’s great about staying here? Everything you want to see in Tbilisi is basically at your doorstep. The famous sulfur baths are just a few minutes’ walk down the hill, and you can easily stroll to Narikala Fortress without breaking a sweat. I mean, you’re literally on Gorgasali Street — named after the king who founded the city — so you’re staying on a piece of history. The narrow streets around here are filled with wine bars, traditional Georgian restaurants, and those charming balconies that make Tbilisi so photogenic. Plus, you can walk to the main tourist sites instead of dealing with taxis or public transport.
The Room Experience
The rooms here strike that perfect balance between modern comfort and Georgian character. Each room feels thoughtfully designed rather than cookie-cutter, with details that actually matter — good lighting for reading, proper blackout curtains, and bathrooms that don’t feel cramped. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-marketing comfortable), and the air conditioning works well, which you’ll appreciate during Tbilisi’s hot summers. What I really liked was how quiet it stays despite being in such a central location — the old stone walls seem to block out most of the street noise.
Breakfast and Dining
The breakfast setup here is actually quite impressive for a boutique hotel this size. They do both a proper buffet spread and full English breakfast options, so whether you want to grab something quick or sit down for a proper meal, you’re covered. The local Georgian items they include — like fresh khachapuri and local cheeses — give you a real taste of the region without having to venture out first thing in the morning. The dining area has these lovely views over the old city, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making sure everything’s fresh and well-presented.
Why Guests Love It
Look, there are fancier hotels in Tbilisi, but King Gorgasali gets the fundamentals right in a way that matters for actual travelers. The location score of 9.8 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really can walk everywhere from here, and you’re staying in the most atmospheric part of the city. The staff knows the area well and gives solid recommendations that go beyond the obvious tourist spots. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing authentic Tbilisi rather than just passing through it, and honestly, that’s worth more than marble lobbies and overpriced minibars.

I had a perfect stay here. This hotel has a number of good qualities. 1. Location – It has a perfect location in the heart of Old Tblisi. Several of the city's most iconic landmarks are within a few minutes' walk. 2. Comfort – The room was perfectly clean and the breakfast was varied and delicious. 3. Staff – The staff were great. My plane arrived in the morning and I was allowed to check in early and also upgraded to a better room since one was available. They were very helpful whenever I needed assistance, including making a phone call for me since I don't speak Georgian.

Location is perfect, Located in the old town area right in the thick of things. Room was large but then we had booked Suites. We liked the rooms and all in all a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Don't know how large the other rooms would be. One thing here the management should remove the bathtub from the Narikala suite and instead put a sofa.
The front reception was great especially Sofia.Khashchuk from United States (9/10)
The location was excellent, we really enjoyed walking the streets of Old Tbilisi. We also enjoyed the Art Deco vibe and interior of the hotel. We stated that we were celebrating a wedding anniversary, and the staff was so kind to surprise us with two glasses of wine upon our arrival. All the staff we had contact with where excellent, very friendly, kind and helpful.

The King Gorgasali was a perfect place to explore the Old Town and surrounding area. Most of the tourist attractions are within walking distance and the bath houses are only 150 meters away. The staff was amazing; Alex, Julia, Konstantin and George were especially welcoming. The entire staff was friendly, helpful and proud to share any information about the city and the country. The room was very clean. The restaurant food was excellent, and we were offered a free glass of wine and 10% off the bill for our first visit; we had a wonderful lunch; the chef is a well-known Georgian chef.
